How would Kyoko Sakura react if Rei sacrificed herself instead?
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Rei placed her hands on Kyoko's shoulders and pushed her lightly in Homura's and Madoka's side in order not to strain the injuries she already she had. Rei glanced over to Homura and nodded. "Take care of Kyoko-san for me, okay?"

Homura nodded and Rei turned back to Kyoko. "Give Walpurgisnacht hell for me."

"Rei?" Kyoko whispered. "What are you doing...?"

"Goodbye," Rei smiled.

"Rei!" Kyoko shrieked as Homura grabbed her and took her and Madoka away. Rei sighed and turned to Oktavia von Seckendorff, gripping her bladed fans, arms trembling, as the Witch loomed over her. She held her fans in front of her. "Come at me," she spat at the Witch.

Oktavia von Seckendorff screeched and held her cutlass bow in the air and summoned up Familiars. Rei sprinted pass them, evading the Familiars and jumped in front of the Witch and slashed it. Suddenly, she disappeared in a green flash and reappeared on another spot of the Witch and slashed them there. Rei continued this over and over until the Witch collapsed on the ground, its face peeling away like paper and crumbed into ash as the labyrinth shook, debris falling.

Rei floated onto the ground before collapsing on her knees, taking out her headpiece and examined her Soul Gem, gripping it in her hand as she saw the swirls of the dark blues, greens, and blacks along with what little green glow remained. Rei smiled sadly as she held the headpiece close to her heart, leaning over her knees as a rock dislodged and fell from the ceiling on top of Rei, shattering her Soul Gem headpiece.

Outside the labyrinth, Kyoko screamed as she struggled within Homura's and Madoka's grasp. She twisted her body, elbowing both girls multiple times. But, they still kept their iron-like grip on the redhead. Suddenly, the labyrinth wavered and disappeared, a Grief Seed sitting on the middle. Kyoko broke out of Homura's and Madoka's grasp and ran to the Grief Seed, not picking it up but instead looking around. "Rei!" She cried. "Rei! Please, Victoria! Come back!"

Rei never came.

Kyoko bit her lip and let out a choked sob, wiping the tears that were beginning to fall in order to not show she was crying.

Rei was gone. She really was gone.

 She really was gone

Rei sat on the edge of the rooftop of the apartment building they stayed in, looking down at the bright lights and cars zooming beneath her feet. If she slid her bottom, Rei would fall off the roof and it would be all over for her.

She heard the door open and didn't have the turn to know who it was. "Good evening Kyoko-san," Rei greeted.

"You too," Kyoko nodded. "What are you doing up here this late up here?"
