Chapter 2

Naina returned back to her home, The agarwal house. It was a small house generally found in the 90's era. It comprised of 2 bed rooms,a kitchen and a living room. Besides Tauji was a lawyer and Rakesh was a school librarian, they didn't want to spend money on house expenses. Tauji used to give the money to his wife beena who would spend the money on her child Pralay and her sarees, accessories etc. Rakesh earned a meagre amount which he used to give Arjun for his cricket practices and tournaments. Naina would get a total of Rs 60 and 50 paise for her books and education related stationary. But the little girl never complained for this, Arjun was a responsible brother, he used to ask her about her demands but she never asked anything. And explained him that she had everything, but who knows what the little girl was hiding. Taiji's constant taunts, her father's complains were very painful for her. She really missed Anand and Bela.

As soon as naina returned to home before she entered inside the house her Taiji handed her a long list of her necessary items and told her to bring it, naina unwilling went to the market. Taiji returned back to teach Pralay and while moving there she met Arjun Bhaiya.

Arjun Bhaiya said, "Aree naina tum itni raat ko bahar kahan ja rahin hai?
Naina replied, "Bhaiya Woh Taiji ne kuch saaman laane ke liye bheja tha"
Arjun was ashamed to hear that Taiji was treating her as her servant, controlling his anger he said, "Naina tu rehan de, tu ghar jakar padhayi kar saaman main lekar aa jata hu! "
Naina said, " Nahin Bhaiya Aap waise hi Bohot Thak gye hai, Aap ghar jaakar aaram kijiye, main jald aaungi jaungi. " Arjun hesitately said, " Naina itni raat ko Tera akele jaana thik Nahin hai, main kehna rahan hu na, main chala jaata hu" A man of age 50 from behind said, " Kahan chala jaata hu? " Arjun said, "Papa woh naina ko Taiji ne market bheja tha toh maine socha ki itni raat ko Woh kahan jayegi toh main chala..... " Rakesh angrily said, "Koyi jaroorat Nahin hai, naina koi choti bachi Nahin hai jo kho jayegi, tum apni practice se aaye Ho jaakar aaram Karo aur apni cricket practice par dhyaan do aur tum (pointing towards naina) Tum toh din bhar aise khali beheti rehti Ho Jara sa aur kaam nahin hon sakta? " Arjun said, "Papa aap... " Naina cut him in between, "Papa aap sahin keh rahein hai main chali jaati hu" Rakesh said and went back home, Arjun kept his hand on her head and said, "Dhyaan se jaana"

On the other hand, Sameer had returned from his college and it was probably the last day of his 1st year, the college would reopen after 7 months. He entered the Maheshwari bungalow, which was probably triple in size than the agarwal house. Nanaji's constant efforts and hardwork had resulted in his success and Sameer is deeply inspired from him. He entered the living room, put his bag on one of the sofas, removed his shoes and laid on the sofa with his legs up on the cushion. Nanaji hearing this noise, came out from his room and happily looked at his grandson.
Nanaji kept his hand on his forehead and said, " Aa gya sameer tu? " Sameer opened his eyes and saw his Nanu, "Kya Nanu Aap abhi tak jaag rahein hai, aapko so jaana chahiye tha, apni tabiyat ka toh dhyaan hi nahin rakhte aap. "
Nanaji said, " Aree meri tabiyat ka toh khayaal rakhne ke liye tu hai aur Ab iss budhe ka kya pata.. " Sameer replied, "Nanu,aap aisa mat kahiye aap hi toh meri duniya hai" Nanaji stated, " Aur tu meri duniya hai, chal Ab bata ki college toh Tera 6 baje chhut jaata hai toh Phir Aaj itni der kaise ho gyi? " Sameer lowered his eyes and said, "Nanu aapko toh pata hai na ki Aaj college ka aakhri din tha toh main mere dost party karenge rahein the! " Nanaji responded, " Ha tum toh bas party karte rahon, shaadi mat Karo! " Sameer in a fake anger tone said, "Nanu Ab isme shaadi ki baat kahan se aa gyi, Aap jaante hai ki main Pehle apni padhayi khatam Karna chahta hu" "Par beta shaadi bhi  toh..... " "Nahin Nanu main shaadi waadi ke chakkar mein Nahin padhna chahtha"replied sameer. Nanaji who was defeated said, " Theek hai beta main Tere decisions ka maan rakhta hu" Sameer happily said, "U r the best Nanu! " Nanaji said, " Ha ha bus kar makhan lagana, chal Ab jaldi apne kamre mein Kal subah jaldi uthana"
Sameer said, "Theek hai Nanu, goodnight. " And he went to his room.

Naina was returning home with 3 big packets from the market, she was tired to the hell but just complained to her destiny giving her nothing. When she returned home, she saw Taiji, Tauji and Rakesh had already finished their dinner and we're heading to their rooms. Taiji said, "Yeh lo aa gyi yeh ladki, Patani kahan reh jaati hai, batao itni der lagati hai kya? " "Taiji main toh bas.. " "Chhup Matlab Ab apne hado se jabaan ladaegi, chup chaap ja aur Khaana kha le aur kitchen mein jaadu laga lena" " Taiji par maine subah hi toh... " "Toh kya hua ek baar aur laga legi toh kya jayega tera,kaunsa Tujhe kuch jaroori kaam karna hai" " Taiji par mujhe abhi padhna hai" "Padh likh ke kya kar legi, ek toh waise hi hum Teri shaadi ke maare pareshan hai, aur Tujhe bas padhayi padhayi hi sujhti hai, Ab jaa kalmuhi jaakar apna kaam kar le" And Taiji left for her room. Naina in a sad mood sat on the dining table, she took her plate and served food for herself. "Kya fayda aise ghar mein rehne ka jo meri kadar hi nahin kare, kya fayda Aisi zindagi ka toh Jeene hi nahin de, Marna hi behatar hai" She didn't start eating and sobbed. She was thinking something when a hand came on her shoulder, she looked up and saw her brother Arjun who was looking at her. She didn't utter a word, Arjun sat on a chair beside her and took a piece of chapati dipped in the dal and took it near her mouth. Naina didn't eat. Arjun said, "Naina main jaanta hu ki tu kyu pareshan hai aur shayad main iss pareshani ko dur Na kar pau, par main Tujhe yu tutne Nahin de sakta, Nahin dekh sakta apni Behen ko aise rote hue, main aapne aapko ek kamjor Bhai smajhungha jo apni Behen ka dhyaan Nahin rakh paaya. "
Naina cried after listening his words and replied, "Nahin Bhaiya isme aapki koi galti Nahin hai aapne hamesha mera bhala socha hai, mera har kadam par saath diya hai, aapke alava iss duniya mein mera hain kaun? "  "Naina tu bilkul chinta mat kar, main bhale hi Tere liye kuch Nahin kar paaya par iss duniya mein Tujhe ek ladka milega jo Tujhe apna manega, jisse Teri fikar ho, jo Tujhe kabhi Nahin chhodega, aur jo Tujhe hamesha pyaar Karega, main jaanta hu naina Tujhe aisa jald hi koi milega"
Arjun stated.

Naina smiled in response and ate her food and after completing her work, went to sleep and wished for a new morning.
