Naib x Eli

My hands worked the cipher, turning and typing, turning and typing. Besides the usual nerves, everything was fine. My heart started beating ever so faintly, not enough to have me leave the cipher, just to be a bit warier. There was a locker on the other side of the wall in case I needed a quick hiding place. Then my mind wandered, deeper and deeper. Then I saw blood.

The machine shocked me as I lost focus on the present, and wandered to the past. But all I could see was blood

"No, no, no, no" I grabbed my aching head "Not a flashback now" I crouched of the floor of the church, the white floor now covered with rotting red corpses. My heartbeat grew louder and louder. I knew he was near the doorway.

The whirring of machines

Snap out of its Naib! I tried to get back to the present, the manor with the survivors, eating dinner with them, walking through the garden. My mind never let me focus, each image was ruined with blood, corpses, and guns.

4 steps away, the red light was at the tip of my vision. Footsteps grew closer

3 steps away "Please..." I begged, not completely sure if I was asking for mercy from the hunter or my death-ridden memories

2 steps away, I'm illuminated with red light, tears streaming down my cheeks.

1 step away. I braced for impact

But it never came. I looked up and saw an owl. There was only one person

"Eli?"

I felt a hand grab mine "This way" a tranquil voice spoke and guided me to the other side of the crumbling wall. He opened the rusting locker and he pushed me inside and followed after me.

My ragged breathing began to calm, and I finally got it back to normal. The red light illuminated the locker for a split second, but the hunter seemed to give up the pursuit. He walked out of our sights and our heartbeats slowed till they were just a purple glow.

We both let out a sigh of relief.

"Well that was close" he sighed

"S-sorry" I muttered, barely being able to his face through the darkness. The only light source was the thin slits in the front of the locker.

"Don't be" he replied, his mouth turning up into a small smile."It's no problem"

I couldn't help but smile back.

Then I realized the situation I was in.

I was in a tiny locker with Eli Clark

"Hahaha..." I nervously laughed as my face turned a vibrant red. I turned away from him and avoided any eye contact. I pushed on the rusted door, attempting to get out.

It didn't move

"Hahaha" I started desperately pushing on the closed door, but it refused to budge.

"I'm s-sorry I-" I turned to him, trying to fix the awkward aura in the enclosed space.

Wrong choice.

Me attempting to turn to him pushed him to face me, and our feet became entangled causing him to lose balance and fall on top of me. We both fell to the floor of the small locker. His hands were on either side of me and his face less than an inch away. My leg was right in between his two legs.

Somehow my face grew even redder and Eli's cheek grew a rosy pink. How did he stay so calm in this situation - in any situation! His ragged breaths made my skin tingle, a pleasurable sensation engulfed my body. I unconsciously moved my face closer to his.

What am I doing? He won't feel the same. There are so many people that actually deserve him. His subtle smile that never fails to my heart jump, his calming voice that manages to calm me even in my worse PTSD attacks, his adorable laugh...

I closed my eyes in embarrassment, what am I doing? Get over yourself Naib

"I-" my apology was cut short by a pair of soft lips crashing into mine. My eyes widened in surprise. Eli was kissing me?! I... I can't believe it. I returned the passionate kiss, a moment of bliss between us.

I wished the moment would never end, but Eli slowly pulled away. I stared at him.

"I-I'm sorry" he managed to say something before me. "I shouldn't have done tha-"

I pressed my lips into his and snuck my hands into his cloak and pulled him closer to me. Kissing him is absolute bliss, and I don't want him to think anything otherwise.

He returned the kiss, reaching into my hood he gingerly gathered my hair into his hands. We pulled each other closer, our bodies getting closer-

"The exit gate is open" I heard Martha yell, we quickly clambered up and peered outside the thin slits. It appeared that William and Martha were looking for us. They both looked distressed. I was about to attempt to open the rusted door again but Eli's hand pulled me away.

"If we get out now they'll see us" He whispered, I saw the blush creeping into his cheeks. I chuckled quietly.

"We'll have to tell them sometime," I say back to him, "And we will I promise" he replied, "Just not right now?" He pleaded. He didn't seem like he had been in a relationship before, but that just made him cuter.

"Whatever you're comfortable with" I whispered back. He smiled "Thank you Naib" he replied, and lightly pecked me on the lips. Now it was my turn to blush.

I could tell they gave up on us as I saw William opening one of the gates as Martha distracted.

"Alright let's get out of here," I say, he smiles back at me.

"3," I say

"2," he responds and looks at me

"1," We say together and ram into the door.

We fell to the floor and dirt and quickly got up. William had managed to open the gate and was trying to help Martha. The brunette girl locked gazes with us and glared.

"Get out of here!" She yelled at me, Eli, and William.

None of us dared to disobey her.

Surprisingly, all of us escaped. But Eli and I had something worse coming to us.

"WHAT THE HELL GUYS!" Martha screamed at us. "WE HAD TO DECODE 5 CIPHERS WITHOUT YOU, WHERE WERE YOU!"

"3 ciphers" Eli replied, and Martha stared him into silence.

"Look on the bright side!" Emma cheerfully "You all escaped"

"And almost no one was hurt" Emily added "But I still need to treat you Martha so give them a break" She smiled at us while the angered brunette glared at us then turned away.

We both let out a sigh of relief

"She's scarier than a hunter," Eli said. I grinned "Definitely" We both laughed.

"Well, I don't have any more matches today" Eli stated, "Would you like to hang out?" he asked innocently as he held out his hand.

I giggled "Of course" I replied while taking his hand.

"I love you," I say

He blushed "I love you too"
