Your POV

Joseph Desaulniers, more commonly known by survivors as The Photographer. He is one of the hunters in this deadly game. He's tall but short for a hunter. His pale skin is often partly covered with what appears to be cracking black skin. He has pure white hair, loosely tied back by a golden ribbon. He looks like he's supposed to be on an old movie set.

I rarely think about him anymore but slivers of memories float back to me from time to time. We were in a relationship, for quite a while considering the circumstances. But in this twisted game, a relationship between a survivor and a hunter isn't destined to last. We broke up, to be more specific I broke up with him.

It was hard on me but I felt it was the best for both of us. I got back on track, not forgetting about him completely - I mean, how could I? - but focusing on other things. But he took things a lot worse than I did.

He didn't participate in any matches since our breakup. It's been two weeks and I had been beginning to worry until I started getting letters.

...

I wake up to a cold breeze coming through my window. I blink a few times, my eyes adjusting to the light of the full moon.

"Strange," I think "I closed the window before I went to bed" I hesitantly drag myself out of the bed. I lazily walk over to the window, wanting to close the window to stop the cold breeze from coming in. But before I close it, I notice a letter flapping between the hinges of the window. I gingerly remove it and close the window.

I sit back on my bed while turning the mysterious letter in my hand. We often get letters from the manor, but they appear in the dining room, they're never delivered individually.

So then it's meant specifically for me, but why?

I look at the seal, it's blood red and seems to be dripping down the envelope. I touch the seal, expecting dried wax but when my finger meets the seal it's stained with blood. I stare at it for a few seconds before rushing to wipe it off.

Whose blood is this?

I open the envelope, carefully avoiding the bloodsoaked seal. I take the note out, quickly discarding the packaging. I unfolded the letter, being met with the most beautiful calligraphy. There was no mistaking the flawless lettering, it was Joseph's.

A cold chill runs down my spine and I avert my eyes from the letter. I don't really want to know what it says but I can't just ignore it. I look back down, trying to reassure myself that it's nothing, that he's saying sorry or something else. But I'm met with something far more disturbing.

I will always love you

It sounds sweet but considering the situation we're in, it's not appropriate to say that. I crumple up the letter and throw in the trash. I quickly pull the blankets on top of me, trying to forget about it.

...

I look at the collection of the crumpled letter in my trash. I receive another letter every night and each one gets worse than the last. I look at it, the fancy lettering saying "Today" I tear this one to shreds, letting the remains fall to the ground.

"I will find you, my love" "You just don't know it yet but you love me and I love you the same." and "You carved open my heart, you can't just leave me to bleed" are only a few that I can remember off the top of my head. They come every night with the same bloodsoaked seal.
