Save Us

Melissa POV

We waited and waited for CPS to show up. I wanted nothing more than to take both girls home with me but I couldn't and that killed me. Camryn was sitting in my lap and every time I would adjust she would get scared and I had to reassure her that I wasn't going to leave her.  At 2:13 the CPS worker showed up, I felt my heart sink. The director called Chris over and when he got up Renly started to panic and started to reach for me. Chris sat her down next to me and she clung to my arm and looked up at me with her big blue eyes ''pweese don't leave me.''She tells me. I had to fight back the tears, I didn't want to promise and then her get taken away. All I could do was hold her tighter. 

Chris POV

I walk up to the CPS worker '' Hello, my name is Sue'' She says. ''Hello'' is all I can manage to get out. Sue went on and explained the situation asking for me to confirm what had happened. Finally, she says the hard part. '' we have to get the girls into the car.'' ''Will they get to stay together?'' I ask. '' I will try to keep them together but they will most likely be separated.'' She says.  The thought of them being separated broke my heart. Before I even realized the words coming out of my mouth I ask ''Can they stay with me and my wife?''  ''I'm afraid not you would have to have gone through training,'' Sue says. ''What if we go through it while the girls are with us? Please, I don't want the girls to be separated.'' I beg. Sue thought for a minute before finally looking at me. ''I'm sorry I can't allow it you will have the option to go through the foster care training and we can try to get the girls back to you.'' Sue tells me.  ''okay how do we do it?'' I ask. Sue explains the proses and gives me the paperwork we will need to start. The next part was going to be hard, we have to get the girls in the car.

Melissa POV

The social worker and Chris were talking for along time I tried to read there facial expressions but I couldn't tell what was going on. Camryn and Renly were still clinging to me like their life depended on it.  Chris turned around and looked at me and I knew what was next. The social worker walks towards us and crouched down so she could look at the girls '' hi girls, my name is Mrs. Sue. What are your names?'' Sue asks. The girls kept the faces buried in my arm not wanting to make eye contact with the lady. ''This is Camryn and Renly'' I tell her. ''Well its very nice to meet you two. I am going to take you girls to a safer home would you girls like that?'' Sue asks. The girls just looked at the lady then at me with fear in their eyes.  Sue sighed then stood up. ''I'm going to go get the car'' Sue says and walks off. Chris came and sat next to me and took Camryn into his lap. 

Chris POV

I take Camryn and hold her tight, this next part is going to be hard. Renly,Camryn can you girls look at me please.'' I ask. Both girls turned to me showing me there beautiful blue eyes.  You know that nice lady who came a minuet ago? I ask. ''Yes,'' they both say in unison. ''Well, she is going to take you two to a safe home where no one can hurt you.'' I explain  ''Why can't we stay with you and Melissa? Camryn asks. ''Because  Mrs. Sue won't allow it,'' I say. ''That lady is a meanie'' Renly says crossing her arms. ''Don't worry we are going to try to get you girls as soon as we can okay,'' I say. '' We will still see you every day so it's okay,'' Renly says calmly. ''Well, you see the lady said you can't come to the show anymore,'' I say dreading what their reaction is going to be. Camryn looked at me with big eyes ''WHAT!! I don't want to go with the lady anymore please don't make me go.'' She exclaims. Wrapping her arms around my neck sobbing into my shoulder.  ''Okay the car is ready'' Sue says walking towards us. As soon as I stand up Camryn wraps her legs around my waist and clings to me even tighter then she was before. Melissa has Renly who was sobbing and frantically looking around the room as if she was looking for an escape route. As we start walking both girls are sobbing saying please don't leave me and I don't want to go.  When we go to the car both girls start screaming bloody murder and kicking at the car. The director had to come help get the girls in the car because they kept kicking making it hard to get them in. After the girls left our director told me and Melissa to go home, he had already sent the rest of the cast home knowing that we were not going to get any filming done today. The car ride home was quiet, I am in shock and all I wanted to do was cry but I had no energy to do so. When we get home I sit on the couch and engulf Melissa into a hug and let her cry into my shoulder. Our hearts are broken for the girls, I wanted so badly for them to be here with us. If they were here with us I would know they would be safe and happy. I know they are somewhere new and they are most likely scared. Their new family won't know that Renly and Camryn are sacred of men and it takes time for them to warm up to them. They Don't know that Camryn likes to play hide and seek and that Renly is really smart and has the biggest heart. I can feel my heart breaking and what makes this worse is seeing Melissa so broken.
