Losing Them

We have been filming for about 3 months and the girls have become much more comfortable with everyone. Camryn will talk to anyone on set and Renly has opened up to Me, Chris, Chyler, Katie, and David. She and Chris have developed a really sweet bond, Renly is always following Chris around. I like to joke and say that she is Chris's little shadow.  Camryn has been attached to my hip lately which is cute but also not like her at all. She has been quieter this week and when I leave she gets this panicked look on her face, at least that's what Chris says. It was everyone's lunch break and Chyler and I were sitting on the couch in Karas loft talking and behind us, Renly was on top of Chris's shoulders. Camryn came up to the couch. '' hey Cami, what's up?'' I ask.  ''nothing'' She says quietly. She looks exhausted, normally she would tell me a 10-minute story on how her day had been but today she just stuck to the one-word answers. She climbed up on the couch and laid her head onto my lap.  ''Are you tired?'' I ask.  Camryn shakes her head no.  Chyler and I let out a laugh because she was obviously tired.  Chyler and I continued to talk about random things and then when the conversation died we sat in conferrable silence.  Camryn was fast asleep on my lap and I was playing with her hair admiring how peaceful she looked in her sleep.  ''you love them don't you.''Chyler asks me. I was a bit taken back by her question. '' I mean ya I love everyone in our cast,'' I say. She laughed a little bit ''no, I mean do you love them like your own''?'' She asks.  I never thought about it but then again I'm confused by what Chyler is saying. ''what do you mean? I ask. '' I mean the way you look at Camryn and Renly it's the way a mother would look at there child. They clearly love you and feel safe with you.  ''I guess, I don't know I have never thought about it," I say. Chyler was about to say something but was interrupted by the stage door being opened.  IM HERE! A very drunk man came onto the set and was clearly not supposed to be here. Chris sat Renly down and she ran over to me and practically jumped in my lap waking up Camryn. Once Camryn was up and realized who was at the door both her and Renly had a panicked look on there face. Chris and some of the directors walked up to this man who at this point I am assuming is their dad.  I was having a hard time hearing what they were saying to the man. The man pointed to Camryn and Renly and both girls clung to me like their life depended on it, something was clearly not right. 

CHRIS POV

The man reeked of liquor and was slurring his words. The directors and I tried to get him out of the building and he managed to spit out two words. Camryn and Renly. My entire body froze it was like time stopped I felt the anger inside of me start to boil. ''There is no way you're getting those two girls.'' I say trying to control my temper. He let out a small laugh, ''I am their father!'' He shouted I looked at him ''no you are a drunk.''I say. His face turned bright red and he started screaming  '' WHERE ARE THEY, THEY ARE MY PAYCHECK! I could not believe the words coming out of his mouth. He was talking about his daughters like they were his slaves or something. I felt like I was about to explode with anger. Before I knew what I was doing I felt my fit connected with his jaw. He tried to swing at me but he was so drunk he just fell over.  The cops showed up not a second later and escorted him out. The girls looked terrified, Melissa was whispering soothing words to them but it didn't seem to be working.  The director came up to me ''That was their dad, considering the state he is in, the girls will not be going home with him.''He tells me.  ''what about their mom?'' I ask. ''Their mother is in prison for robbing a liquor store,'' he says. 'When did that happen'' I ask.  ''Last week'' he says.  As I prosses all of this I realize the girls have nowhere to go.  The director continues ' CPS is on there way they should be here any minute.'' Our director tells me. ''you're going to put them into foster care?''I ask. ''Well, considering the circumstance I suppose they will be put into foster care.''He says. ''Will they still be able to work?'' I ask. ''No, we will need to find new kids to fill their roles.''He says. I couldn't believe what I was hearing they can't take the girls away there only three years old. I walk over to Melissa and Chyler who are still trying to calm the girls down. As soon as Renly sees me she jumps into my arms and barries her head into my chest. I sit down next to Melissa and rock Renly back and forth whispering soothing words.  When the girls seemed to have settled down Melissa looked at me and I knew what she was going to ask. ''Yes, they are on there way'' I say.  She sighed heavily and holds Camryn even tighter.  Even though I have only known the girls for a few months it feels like I have known them forever. My family is being ripped apart and there is nothing I can do.
