Awaken, Chapter 4

They awoke to the sun against their skin.

Shiori stretched and saw her masked love sitting towards the sunrise skipping pebbles along the river.

She turned to find that Itachi was already gone so she crawled over to Obito startling him.

"I didn't realize you were awake, love." Obito spoke as he turned his attentions from the river to her.

"You don't need to sleep?" Shiori questioned poking him in the shoulder.

"Not often, no. How did you sleep though?" Obito asked softly as he threw another pebble, skipping it five times.

"Fairly well! Thank you. What is the mission today? I assume we have something since Itachi is gone." Shiori asked staring at the rippling water.

"You are going on a mission with Sasori and Deidara today to go retrieve the one tailed Jinchurriki. I have matters to discuss with Pein." Obito explained as he stretched out his legs.

"Aw, okay. Well let's go get ready for the day then!" Shiori chirped as she got up from her spot.

"You do not leave until tonight so Itachi and I are going to train your sharingan some more today." Obito added as he got up as well.

She nodded and they began to make their way towards the base.

Once inside, she realized everyone must've been on missions again as the living room was empty except for Deidara and Sasori.

"Okay! Shiori chan, let's get some food in your tummy and then find Mr. Itachi!" Obito chirped out as they went into the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

They sat together and ate scrambled eggs and toast.

Itachi and Kisame walked back into the hideout.

"Oh Mr. Itachi! Would you like to join me in training Ms. Shiori-chan?!" Obito yelled out waving Itachi to them.

"Sure. Are you both ready?" Itachi kindly asked as the two of them got up from the table to leave the base.

Once outside, they made their way over to the training grounds.

Obito sat on the side and allowed Itachi to train her.

"Activate your sharingan and let's begin." Itachi called out as he bowed to Shiori.

She smiled and bowed back activating her sharingan.

She did not have Mangekyo yet like the other two despite her threats in her sleep previously.

Itachi shot fire balls at her trying to get her to increase her speed of seeing through his movements and jutsus.

She managed to knock off about 2 minutes of time in her attacks and mastered her fireball making an even larger fireball then she could previously use and only took 2 minutes to break free of Itachi's genjutsus whereas before she would take at least 5 minutes.

"Hey, Shiori. It is time to depart for our mission!" Sasori called out to the young Uchiha who grinned and nodded.

"Be safe." Obito spoke in her ear as he appeared behind her in an instant.

"I will, dear. Don't get too bored while I'm gone, you two!" Shiori called out as she got on her toes to ruffle Obito's spiky hair as he does to her.

They watched as she ran off to meet up with Sasori and Deidara who were making their way down the path.

"Is she fighting better?" Itachi asked casually as he strolled up beside the masked man.

"Yes. She needs to work on her focus but aside from that, she is handling herself fairly well. She had very little issue in the face of old comrades." Obito explained as they watched her leave.
