After my previous disaster of ruining both furniture and family alike in the 'Levi and Josh Pinchola' household, I had fallen asleep directly after I made contact with my bed.
Grabbing my phone, I noticed that I had a few missed texts from Kari.
How was your date with Josh? ;)
I heard from Josh, you guys aren't talking right now? What happened?
And, of course, the most recent:
Are you alright?
Deciding to get it over with and tell the humiliating story, I called Kari.
I stared at her profile picture on my phone as it dialed, with her bright smile, fire-red hair, and deep brown eyes, she was a sight to behold for any guys that walked down the street.
Not that this usually bothered me any. Josh had been perfect for me, until he decided that he hated me for some reason and has yet to disclose it.
"Hey girl! It's been so long! I was gone in Costa Rica for two weeks and you didn't even call to ask how it's been!"
I chuckled, "Hey, Kari. Sorry, it's been busy here lately. Not to mention I might be having some, uh, severe troubles with Josh."
"Ooh, drama. You can rely on me, you know? So spill."
And without hesitating, I did. I told her about physics, and about the test being moved. I told her about Levi's offer to help, and about almost having sex with Josh on his couch. And, of course, I told her about bleeding all over aforementioned couch and how he had screamed at me for ruining it.
"That bitch. Who is he to talk? Didn't you say he had an ex that he wanted to fuck so bad that he couldn't wait to get there, so they did it on the floor? And it stained?"
She was right, Josh told me it happened. Unfortunately, Josh wasn't apparently skilled in removing semen from the carpet, as there was a small stain by the stairs if you looked hard enough, since the floor was a cream color.
"Still," I told Kari, "I don't know what's gotten into him. He told me such horrible things about myself, and I couldn't take it."
"Yeah, and don't believe them for a second, y'hear? You're beautiful, girl, and you don't need a man to tell you that. Just look in the mirror. Forget about your weight: you're still my number-one rival for men."
At that, I laughed.
"Thanks, Kari. You always make me feel better."
"You bet I do! Listen, I have to go, my mom said that I have some appointment to go to again, I guess some routine checkup, nothing serious. I'll keep you posted. Oh! Let me know how it goes today, you're going to tell Josh about not dating him, right?"
I told her that yes, that was the plan, and we hung up. I simply couldn't let this go on any longer than necessary, I just needed to woman-up and tell Josh that he's gone too far and that I couldn't date him.
I got a shower, dressed in black jeans and a sweatshirt - with a pad in the jeans this time - and grabbed my car keys to leave.
Even as I started the car after going outside, I felt like I was missing something. Checking my pocket, I ensured I had my phone.
No, it wasn't that. But what could I possibly be missing, I had everything I —
Ah, fuck.
I left my physics book at Josh's house yesterday. Now I have to figure out where he put it. This oughta be fun.
