Chapter 2; Bullet Proof

Stepping into the rundown apartment and walking straight through into her own bedroom. Cain stopped his daughter's progression, by calling her back through into the living area.

"Did you have a nice day, sweetheart?"

Edging into the living area, Riley scanned the rack's of weaponry, before turning her gaze to her father. "Not really."

"That's a shame, I thought my baby girl was actual starting to make some friend's." Cain shrugged, as he continued to tap away at his laptop, the screen of which Riley couldn't see.

"What's the point?" Riley walked over to the rundown apartments window and glanced out at the rain, which had just started to fall. "Plus, you promised that you wouldn't follow me anymore."

"I didn't follow you. I merely tracked you instead." Cain smugly smiled, as he slowly turned his laptop to face his daughter.

On the laptops screen was a small map, which contained a small flashing red dot. Next to the map was multiple other small windows, hacked in camera positions, which where located and surrounding the apartment for at least a couple of block's.

Riley couldn't believe her father, as Cain was actually speaking the truth. He may of promised not to physical follow his daughter, but that didn't mean that he wasn't still going to keep a close eye on her from a distance.

"What you've just done was reckless, Riley. We keep our distance away from everybody else for a reason."

"It was only a ride home. It's not like I actually got dropped off outside of the front door."

"No, but weak decisions will make you an open target." Closing the laptop and getting to his feet, Cain grabbed a bullet proof vest and threw it towards his daughter. "I believe some more training is in need."

Catching the vest, Riley followed her father out of the apartment and down to their car. Without another word, Cain drove them both out into the middle of nowhere, where trees and field's were all the eye could see for mile's around.

Getting out of the car and standing within the rain. Cain positioned himself within the field, as he instructed his daughter to put on the bullet proof vest. Doing as she was told, Riley stood a good few meter's away, as she turned to reface her father.

Riley wasn't afraid of her father, as Cain had alway's done everything within his power to keep his daughter safe. Taking out his gun and raising it level with Riley's chest, his daughter stood perfectly still.

"Today you'll be learning two lesson's. The first will be about knowing what it is like to be shot. The second will be on how you deal with your inner internal pain."

Riley didn't understand what her father meant, but she trust him nonetheless. "Is this really necessary?"

"Yes, if you're to fully understand why we live the way we do." With his gun steady and without warning, Cain fired one shot directly at his daughter's open guarded chest.

The bullet hit Riley directly between her breast plate, winding and snatching the breath away from her. Falling backward from the blow and hitting the ground hard. Riley literally felt like she was suffocating, as the rainfall gradually slowed.

The bullet proof vest had done its job and had stopped the bullet from penetrating her body. But it didn't stop the rica shade pain, which spread out across and around Riley's ribcage.

Gasping for her breath and shocked by the initial blow. Riley opened her eyes, to find that her father had moved forward and was standing slightly over her. The rain falling and hitting Riley's face, she blinked the water out of her eyes, as her breathing slowly returned back to normal.
