Deleted Chapter: Thursday January 25th

Thursday January 25th

After school, I went to Key Club with Mai and Derek.  We signed up to work at bingo at a retirement home.  It wasn’t till next week though. Old people kind of freak me out but I still wanted to help.  Mai and I also signed by to work another basketball game, one next Friday. (Take that Ruby I signed up to work at basketball game while Derek is in town)

Afterwards Derek followed me to my house, so we could just take one car to the basketball game because I had no clue where to go. 

I got into Derek’s car once I sat down I looked over at him and he smiled at me, I smiled back but I was little nervous about this alone time.  Luckily Quinn, Sam, Katy and Jack were going to be at the basketball game too.

“Is it far” I asked Derek.

“Not really maybe 20 minutes” Derek said.

“I’ve been here like 6 months and I still have no clue how to get around” I said.

“There’s nowhere fun to go anyway so I wouldn’t worry about it, also if you can’t figure out how to get around here than what are you going to do in LA, that city is big.”

“I’ll stay on campus”

“That’s lame, the beach is right there, are you going to bring your car?”

“I guess I’m a little afraid to drive around in the city like I could never go on the freeway it’s like crazy there.”

“I know, but usually you don’t even move, so it’s right up your alley.” Derek laughed.

I rolled my eyes, “But all those cars, maybe I won’t bring my car and I’ll just bum rides off people.”

“If I go there I’m definitely bringing my car, I want to be able to go the beach and all hot spots” (I hope you do go there!!!!)

 “Take me with you”

“Of course” Derek said looking over at me smiling, except than I got sad, because there’s a chance Derek isn’t going to be there with me.

“I really want you to go to California” I said to Derek seriously.

“You do?” Derek said actually seriously. (Come on you don’t know this)

“Yeah” I said. Derek is really dense sometimes.

“Well I want to go too, I just don’t know what’s going to happen with all the admission decisions.”

“Did they say anything about when they would decide?” (I probably asked him this like 10 times already)

“Uh I think March or sooner if they finished it because all the Film departments need to look over it too.”

“Oh, that’s so far away.”

“It’s not that far away.”

 “Oh my dad wants to you to go with me to UCLA so you can watch over me, ha like you could do that I’m way more responsible.”

“Well you’re a girl”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

“You’re helpless”

“What about you, you don’t have any real life experience, you’re like I’ve never been to a store and what’s financial aid?”

“Those things are useless” Derek jokingly.  Then Derek started talking about someone on the other team’s basketball team until we got there.

When we got there the game still had 20 minutes to start so Derek brought us some snacks to share, which was like half the snack stand, Derek likes variety. (I hope he doesn’t like variety with his girls, like he needs to date with 5 people at once, though I doubt it)

Soon Sam and Quinn showed up.  Derek of course started talking to Sam about the game even before it started.

“So Ruby said we are going to go shopping at 3 on Saturday then the sleepover” Quinn said to me.

“Sounds good” I said.

“Are you going to get a dress for the dance?” Quinn asked me.

“Yeah of course, I mean I could wear my black one, no one’s really seen it yet, but it’s a valentine’s dance so I don’t really want to wear black” I said.

“Ruby wanted to wear black but she found a nice dark blue dress, I got a red dress, it’s cute, I’ll show you a picture” Quinn said and we pulled out her phone to show me.

“Yeah it’s really pretty, I think I want bright purple that colors been on some celebrities lately and has looked really pretty” I told her.

“Oh yeah that be cute” Quinn said then Katy came and we talked about dresses some more.

Then Derek interrupted, “Hey the game is starting, don’t you want to watch?” talking more to me then Quinn and Katy.

So we stopped talking and listened to Derek commentary, ok Quinn and Katy were quietly talking to each other because they found it boring, I actually find it funny. (Ok, maybe I have a soft spot for the guy doing it?)

Rest of basketball game was uneventful; we won so naturally Derek talked about how bad the other team was on the way home.  Derek wanted to get fast food but I told him my mom would be mad, and Derek didn’t want to come over for dinner because he didn’t want to eat without David, he’s so nice sigh.
