Friday February 2nd

So, I told everyone about Derek and me going to the dance together, they were all happy for me, and they all agreed to come to dinner at Derek’s house.  Yayyyy.

My parents invited Derek over for dinner, I guess Derek’s mom called my mom to tell her we are going to the dance together. (Don’t they have anything better to?)

“How come you didn’t tell me you were going to the Valentine’s Day dance with Derek,” my mom asked me when I got home from school, I was just chilling in my room on Facebook.

“Hmm it just happened yesterday and it’s not really a big deal,” I said.

“Oh really, you guys seem like really good friends,” my mom said.

“Yeah we are,” I said.

“Nothing else?”

“No,” (Prying parents sigh)

“Ok, well I invited Derek and David over for dinner tonight”

“Cool”

“You might want to clean up your room,” my mom said and she left to start dinner.  Seriously she needs to see Derek’s room if she thinks mine is messy, ok mine was a bit of disaster but I just put all my clothes in my closet so it looked like it was clean. LOL!

Anyway after that, I went to help my mom make dinner, she kept talking about how Mrs. Werst invited her to come help cook dinner and take pictures of us, so embarrassing. Sigh

“So Derek’s friend Jeff is having a party tonight, how late can I stay out?” I asked.

“Midnight,” my mom said.

“Really I bet Derek is staying out till like 2am actually I think he’s sleeping over Jeff’s anyway”

“Well Derek’s 18”

“I’m almost 18”

“Sorry maybe in a couple of months” Then I thought I’ll just get Derek to convince my dad, they are like BFFs. Good plan.

Soon Derek showed up at the door, he seriously brought flowers for my mother, what a suck up, it was sweet though.  I pretty sure it was the kind you buy at the gas station but it was still nice.

“Oh Derek, that is so thoughtful,” my mom said and went to get a vase for them.

“You’re such a suck up,” I told him without my mom hearing.

“What do I need to suck up for?” Derek asked me, and gave me a smirk.

“Where’s David?” I asked.

“Oh he’s walking here”

“Are you serious?”

“Yeah but only from the gas station it’s only a half of a mile from here” Derek said, he was serious by the way. (And my parent’s think I’m a bad sister)

“Why’d you do that, that is kind of mean”

“He needs the exercise” Derek said, “But really he spilled soda in my car, not cool, so I made him walk, you know its joke it’s not that far anyway.”

“Ok” I said, not really agreeing I was pretty sure David was going to complain when he got here.

“So what’s for dinner?” Derek asked.

“I don’t know, oh can you convince my parents to let me stay out later than midnight”

“Sure, no problem”
