CHAPTER FIVE
The next day I woke up with a text from Harry. Rolling over in bed, I pushed my hair out of my eyes as I scanned his message.
HARRY: Hey wanna come over? Im booored :(
I smiled at his cute little sad face and felt that familiar flutter in my chest come back. I replied yes really quick and hopped out of bed.
I walked over to my closet and looked around for something to wear. After a few minutes, I picked out a black loose sweater and dark gray cropped pants. I slipped into my comfy black moccasins and grabbed my fringed bag.
My hair, left unstraightened, was slightly wavy and I loosely braided it to the side. I kept my make up to a minimum, just eyeliner and lip gloss.
When I got to Harry’s, none of the boys were around, just a smiley and slightly sleepy looking harry standing in the kitchen. His curly hair was scruffy and wild, and he was wearing sweatpants and a soft white t-shirt. He had a bowl of cereal in front of him, but he abandoned it when I walked in.
He enveloped me in a bone-crushing hug, burying his head into my shoulder like a puppy. He smelled like he always does, mint and sunshine, if that makes sense.
“Hey Macers, what are we gonna do today?” He pulled off of my shoulder to speak to me, still holding me by the arms in his iron grip.
He bit his lip (rather seductively) and his dimples showed as he waited for my reply.
“Umm, I don’t know, let’s go get food first?”
“Okay, how about the deli across from the park?”
“Sounds good hazmataz,” I confirmed, and grabbed my bag to go
10 MINUTES LATER
Me and Harry walked together down the road, shivering as we clung together. It was practically freezing out today, and Harry was my only warmth.
At that moment I felt genuinely happy. I had this wonderful person with me, and we were going to my favorite deli and we didn’t have a single care in the world.
We arrived at the deli, freezing and starving.
Harry sat me down in a corner booth and we looked off the menu. Our waitress arrived shortly.
She was about our age, with a blonde bob and a big smile. Her massive eyes were dark blue, and I was immediately jealous of the way Harry looked at her.
To make matters worse, she was American. For some reason british guys just love that accent.
In her thick accent she took our orders, batting her eyelashes at Harry. To my horror, he was eating it up.
HARRY
At this moment I felt very conflicted.
Macie was sitting next to me, and then this fit waitress was obviously trying to get my attention.
The pre-Macie Harry would go for the girl, without a doubt. But I really was starting to like Macie despite being friends.
No, that’s wrong. My brain told me. Go for the waitress, get Macie out of your mind.
The waitress came back with our drinks. I had made my mind up.
“Hello Lucy,” I said, reading her nametag. “Could I have a half turkey sandwich, and a side of curly fries?”
“Of course is that all?”
“Erm, one more thing. I would like the number of the fittie who’s serving me right now, if that’s okay?” I winked at her, laying on the charm.
