Demeter P.O.V.
I was beginning to pace back and forth through my antique-colored cottage with the pale pink trimmings. The sun had nearly set as the food on the table began to hardened. I was wondering where my daughter, Kore, was. This is so unlike my child to disappear like this. Something must have happened to her. Of course it happens when she's with her siblings. Tapping my finger on the table, I head to bed and think of all the places she could have wandered off to. My little girl is out in the world alone without me to be there to protect her.
Hours had passed as the golden sun took reign in the sky once more. Still no word from Kore. Something's wrong. Where's my daughter? Who took her? Without cleaning up the kitchen, I pile out of the cottage and begins searching for my daughter. Starting with the last place I knew she was: The Vale of Nysa. Surely someone saw something. About thirty minutes had passed since I had left in search of Kore and I come up across a hill and see the elm tree that the kids hangout at. The one with the watering hole behind it.
"Rodi? Attie? Ari? Percy? Apollo? Hercules? Are any of you here?" I scream frantically with a stressed-out expression woven on my face. Apollo jumps out from behind me and startles me.
"Aunt Demi? What are you doing here? Why isn't my lovely sister with you?"
"So you haven't seen her? Do you know where she went yesterday?"
"Are you saying she's missing?"
Fear rolled over me. The blood in my veins boiled as I stared at my nephew. He's supposed to be the God of many things and he's absolutely useless. Biting my lip in frustration, I let out a big sigh. "She didn't come home yesterday for dinner. Last time I checked, she was hanging out with her siblings. So, I can only assume someone kidnapped her. My precious little Kore...out there all alone in this chaotic world. I don't know what I'd do if I lost her...." I sob as I begin to walk away from my nephew.
"I believe she can handle herself, Aunt Demi. She's resilient and sharp-tongued. If she were threatened...she'd use her gift to destroy her enemies. She'll come home. Don't lose hope." encourages Apollo before he runs in the opposite direction. The further I went, I would run into other gods and goddesses and ask them the same question. "Have you seen, Kore? My daughter. She's been missing since last night." It was the same old response: No. No. No. I'm sorry, but we haven't seen Kore, our Goddess of Spring. Good luck, Demeter.
No one has seen her.
"Auntie D? She needed to clear her head. All I know is she walked in this direction and then suddenly was no longer in our sight. We'll keep vigil and pray she comes home safely." sweetly consoles my niece, Rodi.
Days were passing as I began to wander the Earth in search of my missing offspring. She's nowhere to be found. I begin slacking on my duties as the Goddess of Harvest and Fertility. If I don't have my daughter...then I don't care if people starve. She's mine. Nine days. 216 hours. 12,960 minutes. That's how long it has been since I have been searching aimlessly for my daughter. I destroyed: livestock, crops, and anything that got in my way of locating Kore.
"Demeter, she wasn't kidnapped. I believe she faked her kidnapping or at least found a way to get away from you. Perhaps ask Helios? He is the all-seeing sun after all." encourages Hecate, the goddess of magic and witchcraft. Soon, I tracked down Helios and he gave me some insight.
"Who took her?"
"She fell into a hole. That is all I know. Have you consulted your ex-bedmate Demeter? Zeus might have seen something or know something about Kore's disappearance." softly states Helios as he moves the sun a tad to the right.
"A hole? And I have to speak to my ass-hat of a brother, Zeus? You're not good at your job, Helios."
I immediately walk through villages on my journey to the golden city of Mt. Olympus. Angrily, I destroyed everything in my way. People cowered in fear. Mortals ran and hid like they always do to avoid a god's wrath. If my brother has known this whole time where our daughter has been - I will destroy everything in his name until she is returned to me.
