Why her?

After I cried to Sam and Kat I called Colby. "You okay? I'm on my way. I saw the post. I'm gonna kick his ass." He says as soon as he answers his phone. "I'm okay. I'll let you know there is more than just the post. He butt dialed me. Now I know how he really feels about me." I said with a cracking voice. He was silent for a few seconds. "As soon as I pull in get into the car." He said then hangs up. I grab my purse and the few things I need and head down stairs. "Hey (y/n)! You okay?" I hear Sam yell from the living room. "Yup! I'm gonna go out with Colby for a bit."
"Okay you guys be safe!" He yelled back. I walked outside and sat on the steps. I play music to block out the sound of the insects around me. I hum along to my favorite song until I see head lights. Colby then rolled down the window. "Get in!" He yelled out to me. I grab my stuff and turned off the music on the way to the car. As soon as I sat down I felt a pair of arm wrap around me. "I'm so sorry. He's stupid." Colby mumbled into my shoulder. I pay his head. "Well I wasn't dating him to begin with."
"But you like him." He said lightly. "Wha? I couldn't like him. It wouldn't work out for us." I said softly. He pulled away slightly looking into my eyes. I knew where this could lead and I didnt want to lead him on. My heart already belonged to someone even if he doesn't return my feelings. I gave him an apologetic look and he understood. He backed away more and started to pull out. "Colby I-"
"No need my dearest (y/n), we are going to have the time of our lives."
"What do you mean by that?"
"We are going to go to a 24 hour lazer tag place. It also has ice skating. I hope you don't mind falling on your ass." He said with a smirk. "Oh I'm great at ice skating." I said with just as much slyness he had. He smirked at me. "Oh well see about that." As he said this he sped off to the direction of the place. I smiled softly. Maybe everything will be okay. We pulled into the place and got out of the car. We walked up to the door and we got our skates first. "Oh what a lovely couple." The one old women behind the counter said to the other woman making me blush. "Sorry to disappoint ladies but we aren't dating." Colby said with a smirk on his face. "Oh what a shame." The lady said back. He just shrugged and pulled me along. I nod to the women and we headed towards the chairs. As we got to the chairs we sat down and tied our shoe laces. I finished tying the shoes first. I looked over to see Colby have a problem with one of the shoes so I helped him. His face flushed and he looked away from me. "Geez you don't have to act like that colby." I said while chuckling. "Oh shush." He said lightly causing me to laugh. "Okay... and done." I said while standing up brush off dust that wasn't there. He smirked and stood up. "Well here we go." I said lightly and stepped onto the ice. As soon as I pushed myself in I hear a small oof. I turn around to see Colby on the ice. I laughed loudly. Colby's face flushed. "Oh shut up and help me." He said holding out his hand. I wipe a tear from my eye and skate to him holding out my hand. He took my hand and I pulled him up. "Here hold my hand so you don't fall again." I said giving a goofy grin towards the end of the sentence. He smirked. "You don't have to ask me twice." He said smiling back grabbing my hand tightly. After that we skated a few laps in complete silence. It felt so peaceful being with him. After our fifth lap we decided to call it quits on ice skating. We returned our skate and went into the next thing, lazer tag. After I whipped his butt in lazer tag for the 4 time he called in quits. We started to head home. "Hey do you wanna stop and get some ice cream?"
"Hmm, sure." I mumbled softly. He smirked. He was quite cocky but he was fun. I forget all of my problems around him. My problems; Cancer, friendless,and ..... Elton. I felt my heart drop but only for a second. Colby didn't let it last long. "What flavor?"
"Hmmm, (favorite ice cream)."
"Nice choice. I'll get two." He said then told the person in the drive through his order. We got the ice and he parked his car under a tree. We ate our ice cream slightly humming to the music playing on his radio. After we finished our ice cream we went home. Colby move my bags into his room. "You get the bed and I've got the couch." He said and I was to tired to argue. I walked over and plopped myself on his bed without removing my shoes. Colby let's out a deep chuckle and walks over to me. He then gently touches my feet. I move my face from the pillow to see him smiling looking down at my feet as he took my shoes off. "You're like a small child." He said softly then continued looking me into the eyes. "I have this over powering feeling like I have to protect you. You feel so... vulnerable. Maybe a little bit secretive but that doesn't matter. Everyone has secrets but yours burdens you. I can tell by the look in your eyes." He said in a calming voice then looked back down at my shoes to take off the other one. "Why are you crying?"
Colby asked when he looked up again. I was crying? I pulled a hand up and touched my cheek. I pulled my hand away to see the wetness on my fingers. "Oh. I guess I'm crying cause you hit the nail on the head. I do have things I don't want to tell anyone. I'm sorry Colby."
"No no don't be. I understand if you aren't comfortable. Just take your time. I'll be here for you no matter what."
"Colby, thank you." I said softly he smiled at me and patted my head. "Are you going to take of the beanie?"
"No."
"Oh okay then. Good night then." He said softly then laid down onto the couch. I pulled out my phone to see Elton posted on his story in snap chat. I clicked it and it was of him and Amanda. It was from his camera roll. The picture was taken before I came down. The caption was "to my heart and soul." My heart stopped beating for only a second. Oh Elton, how can you make me feel this way?

Hey guys I'm sorry I didn't get many chapters out like I'd hope. I'm on vacation with my family and some of them are moving in with us so I had to clean. I'll try to post again soon.
