You left, but still you linger.
You're gone, but still I hunger.
Your scent, your smile, your laughter.
Your warmth, your heart
I'm still after.
But fear and my mother has made you wander
So far from me, will you ever come back?
I wonder.
I try not to feel you, I try to forget
Yet my body will always remember.
It hurts, I'm drowning, I fight
But your love has pulled me under.
The rain, the heartache, the pain
I will forever remember the day you faltered.
I wish, I yearn, I hope
That maybe one day we can just start over.
But I know it is only a fool's dream, one I can't dream any longer
Love may have joined us together, but life has broken us asunder.
Why does it matter where you've gone
If all that matters is that you're gone forever?
So I sit and wait and pray
For the day when you no longer linger.

Playing "Poem Heaven" prompts with Meggyhashope and Dr-Cokebottles.❤ I hope more of you will join us!
Based off of "You left, but still you linger" that was credited to Perry Poetry as tweeted by Poem Heaven, and inspired by episodes 27 and 28 of Meteor Garden when Shancai leaves a heartbroken Ah Si in the rain and hides out in the fishing village. Our poor babies.
I must admit, this is my first poem-ish ever so forgive me if it's random. But something short is what I'll have to stick to if I want to find the time to play. 😊
