Chapter 16

Louis' Pov

A few days passed and I hadn't seen any of my friends due to being busy at my new job. I sat behind the counter and watched a pretty girl look through the vinyls. "Lou would you like a drink?"

"Please." The girl came over and placed a David Bowie vinyl down on the counter. "Bowie, great choice."

"Legend, that's all I can say." I slid the vinyl into a brown paper bag and punched in the numbers on the cash register. The girl handed over the money. "Here's your change, have a great day." 

"You too." The girl smiled one last time before heading out the shop. Eleanor walked out of the back with a cup of tea for me. "That's Danielle, she's really nice. I went to school with her."

"She's very pretty." 

"Mmmh." Eleanor took a sip of tea from her own mug before sitting down next to me. "Has it been busy today?"

"Not really."

"How about we shut up early and go out for a bit?"

"But-"

"And i'll still pay you your full wages."

"Alright then." Eleanor took both our drinks back and grabbed her jacket and bag. We locked the shop behind us and turned the sign around. "So where to first?" 

"There's a new film out at the cinema?"

"Sounds good to me." We made out way through town laughing and joking with each other.

"Two adults please." Eleanor went to take out her purse. "Don't worry i'm paying." I pulled out my wallet and handed over the cash. The guy typed it into the register and handed over our tickets. "Drinks and popcorn are available at the counter over there."

"Thank you." We made our way over to the other counter and ordered one large popcorn and two drinks. "I'm paying this time." Eleanor handed over the money. 

"Oh shut up Harry, you'll enjoy the film." I recognized the voice. I turned around and saw Harry and Gemma walk up. "Hey guys." Eleanor turned around to see who I was talking to and slipped her hand into mine. "Hey Louis." Gemma said as she nudged Harry in the ribs. Harry looked up, "Wha- oh hey Louis." Harry looked down and I watched his face drop as he saw my hand linked with Eleanor's. "Here's you go I hope you enjoy the film." Eleanor took the popcorn and I picked up the drinks. "Well see you around." I waved at Harry and Gemma but only Gemma waved back. 

"Do you like him?" Eleanor asked as we took our seats.

"Like who?"

"Harry."

"Yeah we're friends."

"No I mean, I saw the way you looked at each other, you looked like you fancied the pants off of him and he looked so shy and awkward and blushed when you looked at him."

"Alright I do like him." 

"That's so sweet, what's stopping you getting together?"

"His family."

"I guess we're sat next to you guys." Gemma chuckled. 

"Ooh I love your make up!" Eleanor exclaimed.

"Thank you i'll have to show you how I do it sometime."

"How about now."

"But the film-" 

Eleanor turned around to me, "have fun." Gemma then got pulled away by Eleanor. 

They didn't return for the rest of the film. Harry moved closed to me and started to share my popcorn. "People must think we're on a first date or something." Harry whispered as he rested his head on my shoulder. "Why can't we be?" 

"What do you mean?" 

"Harry would you let me take you out after the film as a first date?"

"Um okay." Harry smiled at me and I kissed the top of his head.
