Mia's P.O.V.

Gemma left yesterday. I had to start focusing back on gymnastics because I have a meet in two days. I feel confident in my gymnastics, but not the fact the it is being out on the television. It is kind of like a nationals, but it is t because the season had just started. They call it a pre-nationals. It is a meet when you go and compete and if you make it to nationals at the end of the season they compare your scores, just like when you take a pre-test at school and then a test after you learn everything.

My main focus is my beam. We had change some skills to make them either more showy or a more difficult skill. I have to do a round-off handspring connected to a front tuck. But every time I do the skill I just can't get it. It doesn't click. I'm hoping that when I compete it will click and work out. I also have some new tumble passes in my floor that I haven't done for a while because of focusing on my beam.

The one tumble pass is a front walkover to front tuck to a back handspring step-out. I have done one of those since I was around nine.

I'm really going to perform all my events like it's my last because it is my sister's birthday the first day we compete, Saturday.

Saturday came quick and I was pumped. I felt really confident walking into the arena and all. I put my gym bag down with the rest of my team at our warm up spot. We each went over to our first events and got to practice. I had went to one of the several beams and did my routine. Every time I tried to do my round-off to front tuck I was falling. It was making me so mad that I couldn't even do a leap without falling.

But unfortunately for me I was called to perform.

I waited for the signal to solute. When I was given the signal I took a deep breath in and out. I smiled and mounted the beam. Once I was up I did a leap into a front walkover. Then a did a full turn and a split jump. I then did my first tumble pass, the round-off handspring front tuck. I stuck the landing! A smile appeared on my face immediately. This was the first time all day that has happened. I did more skills and dance like moves with much more confidence. When I got to my other tumble pass a front walkover front tuck to a back handspring step- out I did it with ease. I did my dismount of a round-off handspring tuck off perfectly. I was sure to take first in that event.

I waited for my score. The screen had blinked my name. The score had followed shortly after. 9.93 out of 10. I was number one on the beam list with Jane Hasting in second having a score of 7.89 out of 10. That was one event down and only three more to go.

My floor event is next. In my floor I have to do a pose and go straight into. Back extension front handspring, round-off back handspring and a full twist, a turn, leap straight down and a dramatic head pull back. I did my routine almost perfect except for some none sticking landings. I scored a 15.5 out of 16, giving myself first place by a half of a point from Charlotte Jenson. Fore my vault I do a tsuk vault. I scored a 15 out of 15.7 from messing up the landing on the second go. Lastly, my bars I do a kip cast handstand, two free hip handstand connected, soul circle, jump to high, swing around, giant and giant again to my flyaway. I got a 8.57 out of 10 on bars giving myself second place by having Meghan Miller beat me by a tenth. But I won gold on the all around event. Overall, my meet was a successful eight hours of winning. Just think only a few more meets and all till I can be an Olympic Gymnast, but most importantly I did this all by myself, no help.
