"Katsuki, I haven't seen you in three days. You need to get out more. You're 19, shouldn't you be looking for a job?" Bakugou's mom said as she opened his bedroom door.

Bakugou was on his bed, covered in a blanket, scrolling on his phone. "Don't you know how to knock?" he mumbled, ignoring his mom's question entirely. He mindlessly scrolled through his twitter feed, not even realizing what he was reading.

His mom closed the door and sat on the foot of his bed. "Katsuki, what's wrong? You used to always be out with friends and now I haven't seen you outside of the house in weeks." Her genuine tone caught his attention. Some things ran through his mind like his friends that he didn't really like, how boring his oceanside town was, and the general lack of motivation to move.

"I'm not talking about this right now." he said bluntly. This made his mom a bit angry.

"Yes you are." she demanded, standing up. Bakugo didn't feel like dealing with her shit, so he stood up, shrugging on a jacket over his t-shirt and jeans. "Fine. I'll be back for dinner." he said, storming out of his bedroom to the front door before his mother could say anything else.

As he opened the front door of his tiny house, the cold November evening air hit his face. He shivered, but he kept walking forwards.

His house was a five minute walk to the main street of the small town he lived in. This town was called Bridgedale, and he fucking despised it. It's completely empty and boring for most of the year, but then it gets flooded by vacationers in the summer months. He hated the sight of the town.

As he continued to walk, the rough gravel crunching beneath his feet turned into a sidewalk, and then he was in town. There were only a few cars on the road, since it was a Thursday evening. He felt his back pocket, finding a ten dollar bill in there.

"Lucky bastard..." he laughed to himself. Soon enough, he came up to a familiar cafe. The cafe had a brown exterior, but most of the small brown building was made up of windows. On the outside, a few plants that were wilted from the cold air sat. The sign read "Ochako's."

As Bakugou opened the door to the cafe, a small bell rang. He saw a familiar girl bent down, looking under the bar. "Hi! Welcome to Ochak-" the girl began, but stopped and smiled when she saw Bakugo.

"Bakugo! I haven't seen you in weeks...sit down!" she said, motioning to a seat in front of him. He sat down gladly. This was his best friend Uraraka. He's known her since primary school and, despite the way he acts towards her sometimes, she really means a lot to him.

"Hey, round face. I've just been at home lately. Uh. Had a cold." he lied. Uraraka grabbed a cup from the bar and started making Bakugo's favorite coffee. "Wow. For that long? Are you okay" she asked, concerned as she poured coffee and milk into the cup. After adding sugar and a few more ingredients, she slid it to Bakugo. "On the house. Consider it a welcome back gift." Uraraka said, smiling warmly. Bakugo would've protested, but he knew it would do no good.

"Thanks..." he mumbled, warming his still freezing hands with the cup. He sipped at it, enjoying the taste.

"So, how has today been?" Uraraka asked, propping her elbows up on the bar. Bakugo sat down his cup, sighing. "I got into a bit of an argument with my mom...something about me not leaving the house or having a job" he explained. Uraraka smiled in sympathy.

"I get that. My mom was like that too when I first started opening the shop last year." Uraraka said, making Bakugo feel a bit better.

"You know...I have an idea!" she said, springing off of her elbows and standing up straight.

"And that is..?" Bakugo replied, curious. Uraraka looked determined and said "Since I'm the only one who works here, things can be a bit hectic. If you want, I'll pay you to work here! I won't be strict and I'm sure you wanna save up for your own house or something." she said. Bakugo hummed as he pondered over her offer.

"Sure. Sounds good to me." he said, smiling softly.

"Yay!!" Uraraka said as she jumped around with her arms in the air. For the next hour or so, the two discussed working hours, payment, and more. Soon enough, Bakugo started getting tired and decided to head home.

"Bye Bakugo! See you tomorrow!" Uraraka waved out of the cafe door and he walked down the sidewalk. He gave a soft wave back and ambled home in the cold winter air.

He followed the same trail that he walked into town on, except that this time it felt much slower. As the gravel crunched beneath his feet, he looked up to see the trees move hypnotically in the cold breeze. Seeing them made him think of the ocean, which he hadn't visited in a while. Despite hating his town, he did love the ocean. He loved how it was so peaceful, yet so chaotic at the same time.

Soon enough, he reached his house. He stepped in the door, shrugging off his jacket and taking off his shoes. His mom was sitting on the couch, staring at him.

"Welcome back." she said, almost sounding sarcastic. He ignored her statement.

"Got a job at Uraraka's cafe. I start tomorrow." he said, walking into his bedroom, closing the door.
