Oh no! Career day is tomorrow! Who can I bring? Peter thought frantically. May had died so now he lived with Tony and the Avengers. Maybe I can ask Tony. But he probably will be busy. Maybe I should just go alone. Like with no parents.
"Yo, Parker! Is your mom or dad coming? Oh wait, none 'cos they are dead!" Flash grinned. He slammed Peter into the wall. Flash punched Peter. Hard. Peter wanted to fight back. But he couldn't. So he just stood there. Flash released Peter and left. Throbbing, Peter left school.
---
"Heya, Tony!" Peter called. "Hey, Underoos!" Came the reply. Peter smiled and stepped into the Avengers living room. To his surprise, the whole team was there. "Uh, hey guys!" Peter mumbled, shocked. I mean, it was not everyday all the Avengers were free."Kid? You okay?" Tony asked, concerned.
"It's career day tomorrow and our parents are supposed to come but since no one knows I guess you're not coming. Besides, you're probably busy." Peter mumbled.
"What's career day?" Tony asked. "Yeah, kid. You seem weird." Clint chimed in.
"Uh, career day is like you bring your parents to talk about their jobs." Peter replied. "Tony, can I, uh, go? I got homework."
Tony nodded. Peter hurriedly left.
---
Tony turned to face the Avengers. "Guys, anything up tomorrow?" There were a couple of "No"s and "Nah"s. Tony grinned. "How about we pay Peter a visit during Career day?" Tony asked. The team agreed.
---
"Mr Parker, is your aunt ever going to come?" Mr Harrington snapped. "Er, she's not gonna come." Peter mumbled."Ha! Parker has nobody!" Flash jeered. Beside him, both his parents nodded in agreement.
Mr Harrington started the Career day. Just as he was going to call the first parent, the door flew open. Literally. "Oops. Don't worry, teach. I'll pay." A man wearing sunglasses sauntered in and threw a glance at the now-broken door. The team followed Tony.
"Mr Sta...Stark?" Mr Harrington blinked in confusion. "What are the team and you doing here?"
"Today's career day, right? Shouldn't I be here for my son?" Tony raised and eyebrow. Peter shot up from his seat. "To-Mr Stark! What are you doing here?"
"Being your parent, of course. And it's Tony. The team decided to tag along. Hey, teach? Can we come in?" Without waiting for an answer, he walked straight in, and made a beeline for Peter. "Hey, kid."
Natasha slid into the seat next to her little spider. Tony sat at the other side. The rest crowded behind Peter. "Shall we continue?" Peter coughed, breaking the silence. Mr Harrington nodded and the first parent started.
The team each took turns to share about what they did. They warned the class that no one should interfere with Peter. Truth was, they were only warning Flash. And from that day on, Flash did not bully Peter at all.
Yay. How's this horrible one shot? Eh. Who cares.
