"He did what!?" My other true best friend, Hailee, screeches through our facetime on my ipad.

"He was a total prick. I don't get him. So much for a happy 18th birthday." I say sarcastically as I straighten my hair.

"Oh I wish I could be there! At least we are going out tonight. You can forget all about Luke and maybe you'll see Trey!" I laugh at her comment. That was highly doubtful.

"Yeah I don't think I will. Besides you know that since Marcus I haven't settled down, I go around to different guys." I mutter and start my makeup.

"Uh Sydney..." Hailee says softly and I look at the screen.

"What?" I raise an eyebrow and shrug thinking it was something I said.

"This was on the cover, in the corner." She shows me a magazine and the headline reads Sydney Evans and Five Seconds of Summer, Will They Be Her Next Prey?

"Oh my god." I was past this. I was past all of this.

Below the headline is a picture of me and all the guys and next to it is a picture of me with Trey. When I told him he would see me in the magazines. How right that was.

"Don't let it get to you Syd. I have to go but I'll see you at The Red later." With that she signs off.

I sigh as I finish my makeup so I head downstairs, to my emtpy house.

The doorbell rings and I go over and open it. Surprised to see all of the guys.

"Hey, what're you guys here for?"

"Well don't be too excited." Calum says as he smirks at me.

"Don't worry I won't be." I send him my own grin and he shakes his head.

"We were just seeing if you wanted to go out with us tonight." Luke groans as he is elbowed to talk. "You're already ready to go anyways."

"No thanks. I'm going out with Hailee. Besides having me with you might not attract a bunch of sluts throwing themselves at you." I lean against the door and he glares at me.

"Well if what I was told is true you were throwing yourself at guys just a few months ago. And for no reason other than being desperate." That was a low blow. Of course he didn't know about Marcus.

"You have no idea of what the hell you're talking about Hemmings." I warn him.

"Oh but I do Evans." He looks into my eyes and I see some regret in them. Not much but some.

"Well at least I didn't sleep with a new person every night!" At that I sigh. "I'm sorry you guys had to stand there and hear me yell at Luke. But Luke, you can go to hell!" I pointed my finger at him, causing my sleeve to move up and reveal cuts. I shut the door quickly, hoping no one noticed.

I push back tears and go upstairs. I change into black high waisted, short shorts, with a red, long sleeved, low cut shirt tucked in and black pumps.

After grabbing my bag and phone I grab my keys as I run out the door. Only to be met with Luke leaning against my car.

"What do you want?" I raise an eyebrow in his direction.

"Why'd you do it?" His voice comes out husky and when he lifts his head up his facade is gone. His eyes hold sadness and guilt.

"I don't know what you are talking about." I grunt as he pulls me to him by my wrists and lifts my sleeves up.

"You have new ones. Fresh ones." I hear his voice crack as he stares at my wrists. "It was because of me." Because I love you. Thats why.

"Yes they are. I have places to be. And don't gloat that they are all about you. Only three of them are because of you." I say harshly and walk to the drivers side of my BMW i8.

"I would never gloat about thay Sydney!"

"And I thought you would never not be my best friend. But I see how that turned out."

"I'm sorry!" He almost yells at me, making my head snap to him.

"I'm so fucking sorry! I didn't want to treat you like that. I didn't want to be around you because you reminded me of how happy I was. I don't like the new me. I'm an attention whore and I am always drinking. I want to stop. I am so fucking sorry. Goddammit I just want to be happy and you, you make me happy. Sydney I can't go another day without you." He finishes as tears roll down both of our faces.

"Oh god! Luke, I missed you." I hug him quickly and he immedietly responds my embrace. "Lets order in Chineese and watch movies alright?"

He nods and I grin. I have Luke back. I have MY Luke back.

"What do you mean you've never seen The Conjuring?" Luke asks me dumbfounded as we sit on the couch next to eachother, cuddled up.

I take a bit of my kung pau chicken with chile sauce on it and shrug. "It seemed too scary."

"How are you not fazed by how spicy your food is?" Luke asked all of a sudden and I smirk.

"I like things hot." I wink at him as he chooses The Conjuring.

"Oh well I can certianly fulfill that." He laughs as I roll my eyes.

"Do we have to watch this?" I look up at him and he smirks.

"Yup." He says popping the "P".

"You suck, you know I don't like horror." I whine as I look up at him and he just shrugs in return.

"Too bad for you." I grunt and cross my arms, waiting to be scared out of my mind.

Five movies later and we are both barely awake lying on the couch.

I feel Luke eyes on me so I look up at him and raise an eyebrow "What?" I say with a yawn.

"Nothing. Guess what?" He says as he closes his eyes.

"What?" I tuck my head deeper into his arms.

"Our band is doing a small show tomorrow, it'll be epic." His voice trails off as he falls into sleep.

Tomorrow. My birthday.

Guess we won't be going to the beach.
