Minho ran up to Thomas and tried to pull his gaze away from Brenda by moving his hand up and down in front of Thomas' face but failed. 'Did she really just say that? She has feelings for me?'
"Dude, what's going on in that shuck head of yours? Looks like you've seen a ghost.'
Thomas finally pulled his gaze away from Brenda,
"Yeah, I'm fine, just... surprised."
Minho looked at Brenda with a smug look on his face,
"You really are one messed up shank aren't you? If you've just realised that Brenda has the hots for you, man..." Minho shook his head and smiled "did you ever have girlfriends before the maze?"
"Can't remember."
"Oh that's right, you lost your memory like the rest of us." Minho said flatly. "Look just talk to her, she's been looking at you with puppy eyes for a long time now. Man up slinthead!
Thomas didn't know what to say to any of that, as far as he knew he didn't know anything about girls or how to handle them let alone relationships. Thomas looked at Minho who was trying to suppress a smile.
"Anyway you Brenda and I are going to go for a three day journey to check out this place. We'll be going through the woods to the other side and continue down that way. Frypan, Aris and Harriet are going the opposite way, past the river." Minho gestured the hills on the other side of the river. "We're going to start first thing tomorrow morning, so be prepared."
"Wait, I thought you said that Brenda was in charge of first aid?"
"Well Tom, when you fall over and cry your little shuck head off during our hike, who's going to patch you up?" Minho snickered.
Thomas sighed, "what would I do without you Minho?"
"I honestly don't know shuck face, I honestly don't know. So be prepared we're leaving at sunrise, oh and could you tell Brenda about this too, I haven't gotten around to breaking the news to her." Before Thomas could argue Minho laughed and walked away.
