I plant my foot down and stand straight, my scythe back over my shoulder. Glancing around, I don't notice anything except the crowd being spaced away. On an instinct, I turn and grip my scythe with both hands, blocking a strong swing from a metal staff. A girl rebounds away and stares straight at me with stormy grey eyes, and I realize this must be the blind Captain that challenged me.

Y/N: "So, what is your name? Or do I have to win to get it?"

The blonde girl stands straight up and bows to me, and I do the same.

Captain: "I am Storm, Arsenal. And if you lose, we will know your true name."

My eyes widen and I grit my teeth. I stand straight and snarl, getting downright hostile. My scythe levels into striking position and I brace myself for an attack.

Y/N: "Then I can't lose. I can't let anyone here know who I am. Not yet."

In an instant, Storm is behind me, slamming her staff into my back. I cough and swing my scythe around, hitting only air. Again, I'm slammed, this time in the stomach, and the only frustrating thing is...I can't see this girl! I eventually cough blood on the eleventh hit, and I stagger to my knees, just as Storm stops moving.

Storm: "This fight is over. Your powers can't keep up."

I stagger back to my feet and lift my eye patch, just for my eyes to glint.

Y/N: "Dance of the Doomed! Pin this soul here!"

Storm suddenly gasps and freezes, dropping her staff. I transform my scythe into a sword and stride closer, appearing only to her as desert dunes and broken weapons appear to her.

Y/N: "You are caught. There is no escape. You have lost."

As I pass her, I cleave straight through her with my sword and release my ability. I stand still as she slumps to her knees before falling on her side.

Y/N: "This fight is over! The winner is me! Now return the cleaved soul to its' owner now!"

With a flash of light, Storm gasps and stands up, looking around.

Storm: "I have lost. I wish to know more about you now, and what those abilities are."

I look back to her as students start mumbling about the defeat of a Captain. I smile and walk forward, holding out a hand. She takes it, somehow knowing it's there, and lets me help her up.

Y/N: "Thank you. That is the toughest fight I've had. I'd like to train with you often, okay? As friends."

Storm seems to hesitate, but nods after a split second. I chuckle and turn around. After about three steps, my knees buckle and I collapse.

Y/N: "I...overdid it...again..."

My weapon fades and my eyes dull as blood starts pooling from my mouth. I hear two sets of footsteps rushing to me.

Ark: "Y/....Arsenal!"

I can see Storm glance towards Ark's voice as both get to me.

Ark: "We have to get him to the Doc."

Storm: "I agree."

I give up on trying to listen and just give in to the darkness, hearing the worried yells of Ark as I'm picked up and jostled on to...somewhere.
