Death in a Dorm

I was guiding them back to my dorm, thinking about how to explain my past to them. I don't know if my sister would approve, or my brother, but I trust these people already. Trailing behind me are Ark, Hannah, and Storm. Ark seemed to know the way to the dorm all too well, which slightly creeped me out.

Y/N: I don't really know where to start. Maybe the beginning of it all. Everyone knows that the cleanser saved the world by sacrificing himself to stop the Blight, a malicious being intent on destroying all of humanity. In the aftermath, powers were bestowed on many individuals across the globe. But that power took a preference in people. Who can tell me that preference?

Ark was the one who spoke up, of course.

Ark: The power chose only females. Except you of course.

I nodded.

Y/N: Exactly. The reason for this is because the Blight was female, so it chose similar hosts, except for a few specific aspects. One of those aspects chose me. I gained the power over souls, and more specifically, death. I gained the Blight's darker side. You all gained something different. And based on the amount of power you have, the more manifestations of your weapon you have. The Cleanser was an ordinary person, a male, who had the first power. If you can call it that. In an explosion of light, he died. But what does all that have to do with me?

Storm: Yeah. You're telling us history lessons we've learned over and over through the years. But where do you fall in, or are you reminding us of all this first?

Y/N: What history doesn't note is that there were other participants of that battle. A family fought with everything it had. A father, who did his best to save anyone he could. A mother, who healed the others when they were wounded. A son, who died in sacrificial glory. A daughter, who held the Blight in place with barriers. And one last son. He fought the Blight, wounding it several times. This son was thrown backwards. The eldest son grabbed the Blight and destroyed himself. Seeing the incoming destruction, the youngest son defended his nearest relative. His sister. When the two came to after the wave of carnage washed over them, the other three had perished with the Blight. As the last two survivors, they vowed to get stronger in case another foe appeared that strong again.

Hannah: You know how to tell a story. So, a family sacrificed everything but a sister and a brother to save the world. As this happened, a wave of powers was unleashed onto the females of the world.

Y/N: Yes. Everyone knows the Cleanser's name was Zephyr L/N. He did everything he could, just to save the people he loved. Now, I, Y/N L/N, continue to do so. I refuse to let anyone I care about get hurt again, or let those who hurt the people I care for get away.

Everyone freezes and I grab the door handle. Twisting it, I smile as I head inside, only to let my composure completely fall apart as I scream in agony and despair.

Storm: What's wrong, Y/....oh no...

I stared up at the wall, where the lifeless corpse of my sister, the barrier queen, was nailed. I slowly breathe, huffing angrily as I snatch a note from the wall next to her.

I hereby challenge you Arsenal, or Y/N, to a battle in the school arena with the entire school as witness. You may bring three fighters, and I will do the same. The battle is at three o'clock. -Misty

I immediately turn around and smile.

Y/N: You three are now my champions. I will fight with you in a battle in twenty minutes against Misty. You are not allowed to refuse if you are my friends.

The three see me at my angriest, nearly at my breaking point, and gain a look of anger.

Storm: You've got our loyal support. Now and from here on out. You will be our school president after this.

Y/N: Good. Because this battle will not end until either Misty or I am dead.

The three nod.

Y/N: Let's go.

All four of us run to the arena, preparing for the battle in ten minutes.
