Fractured

Part 2

We were on the Bioship heading to the coordinates that Batman sent us. The team sat in silence. Artemis was polishing her arrows and Superboy sat brooding. You could sense there was tension. Probably because Batman called out those who he thought were better at stealth.

I turned my chair so I was facing away from the team. I took off my glove and saw the bruising get darker. I took out some athletic tape from my utility belt and started to wrap my wrist. I gritted my teeth as I ripped off the tape and put back on my glove. I turned my chair back and saw that Kid Flash was looking at me with a tilted head. I waved him off and looked at my wrist computer and saw that we were getting close to the destination. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, I tried not to think of the pulsing pain that I was feeling.

Everyone ready? Miss Martian said in the telepathic link. There was a chorus of "Yeps, yes, and let's go" From everyone. The bioship opened up and Miss Martian camouflaged herself and flew down, Artiems jumped out after then I jumped beside her. I ended in a lunge. And checked my wrist computer. "Remember no fighting. We're just here to find out what are in those shipping containers and get out. This way." I pointed towards the warehouse.

We got to a tall fence and Miss Martian passed through it. "Robin help me up." I hesitated. "Robin hurry up! "I got in a squat and interlocked my fingers. She stepped on and I lifted her up. "HOLY FU- "I stopped myself realizing I had thought that in the link. Robin are you okay? Miss Martian asked concerned.Yeah I'm fine. I clenched my jaw and steadied my breathing. "Geez I'm not that heavy. Come on give me your hand." I looked up to see Artemis leaning over the fence reaching down. I jumped up and gave her my left hand, but still had to use my right hand to help myself up. I winced in pain. We jumped down and headed for cover.

We saw some guards walk by and we dove behind a shipping container. "The shipping containers we have to look at are in that warehouse. Miss Martian do you see any way to get in there?"

"I spotted 2 guards that just walked past. 3 on the balcony and 1 near the door. I think our best bet is the roof."

"Roof it is then." Artemis added as she aimed an arrow towards the roof. I put a hand on the bow and lowered it. "We have to get closer. From this distance someone is gonna see you shoot your bow."

I peered over the container to see another entry point. I sank back down. "We can make a break for it to the side of the building from there we can use our grappling hooks to get up."

Miss Martian went first and made it to the side of the building. She peered around the corner and waved for us to come over. I did a dive roll to meet her with Artemis close behind me. We all looked at each other. I shot up my grappling hook, Miss Martian flew up, and Artemis shot her bow grappling hook up.

Once at the top I went to the air conditioning box. I opened it up and looked at Artemis. "Can you fit? "She looked at Miss Martian and rolled her eyes. "You and Robin go down I'll stay here and be a lookout." She said crossing her arms.

I opened up the vent and climbed in. Miss Martian sank down after me.
