The mysterious thing about today was that the stranger hadn't send me any message. It was the first time something like this had happened since my thirteenth birthday. I think this person was fed up with sending me messages everyday. It might get tiring to look for a secret for everyday.

It was the 24th of November, my birthday eve. I wasn't excited as much as everyone gets for their 18th birthday. I had this feeling inside me that something disastrous was going to happen tomorrow-

"I was so excited for my eighteenth birthday. What's wrong with you?" Aiden asked, coming to sit beside me on the grass. I looked up at the sky for a moment. There was a chill in the air.

I shrugged, " It's-it's weird..........you know, turning eighteen. I just don't get my 'birthday feeling'."

"Depressed much", Aiden shook his head.

"Just speaking the truth. I never lie to you and you know that."

"I sincerely feel honoured," Aiden said proudly,"Anyway, come I'll take you for a walk."

"Fine......at least wait for me," I said getting up and catching up with him.

We reached the park. We were running and playing around when suddenly a girl banged into us.

"Hi, I'm Parvati Poddar from india," the weird girl said.

"Wh-What ?" Aiden asked confused.

"Hi, I'm Parvati Poddar from india," the girl said again.

"What? Poverty Podar?" Aiden asked still confused.

"Nooooo........P-A-R-V-"

"Okay, whatever hi!"

"I'm very sorry to disturb you guys. You guys are a very cute couple. Ok, fine!!Bye!!" the girl said and ran away. She was seriously very weird.

"What was that all about? Are all Indians like that?" Aiden asked creeped out.

"No, actually I have met some amazing Indians who are a lot of fun to talk to."

"We should really visit India some day," Aiden said, in deep thoughts.

"I agree! That place is supposed to be amazing."
         ...............................

Today I was pretty exhausted doing nothing, so I feel asleep early on my 'eighteenth birthday'. Wow! such an amazing start of my adulthood.

"Come on, Colette," my dad called out.
I ran towards him happily and he lifted me up in the air, "We have to go to the beach!"
He smiled at me, his smile reaching his eyes. The basket with 'yummy-yummy' food in it was taken to the parked car outside. Dad made me and my naughty brother, Aiden sit in the back seat of the car.
"Colette!! You're finally five......but I am still six months elder than you," Aiden teased me.
"You dumbo! You will always be six months elder to me", I huffed and sat back in my seat.
I tried to ignore Aiden and pretended to sleep the whole ride. Finally!! We reached the beach pretty quickly and got out of the car.
The beach had always been my favourite place. The smell of the salty sea water always pulled me towards it. The blue sky above us was sooo wide and it had different shapes of white clouds which reminded me of cotton candy. Suddenly, I had an urge to eat cotton candy.

I felt someone lift me up. I thought it was my dad and in order to never let the dream end I shut my eyes even more tightly.

"Cotton candy..........," I mumbled in that person's chest.
