Chapter 9: COLETTE, A DRUG ADDICT?!

I couldn't make up my mind about the message, was it even true or not? I  had never thought about the possibility of my parents being alive. It was like someone coming back for death, for me. I had the newspaper , it did have the news about the plane crash, locked up somewhere. I had proof . This couldn't have been possible.

But what if it was true? Was I supposed to be happy? What if she didn't not want me? What if she didn't not care about me?

"Why are there so many ifs and buts in this world," I scream in the car unknowingly.

I see all heads turn towards me and realise what I had just spoken out.

"The world is as it is , honey," Zach said beaming.

I could sense Mike's suspicious stare. I had shut him up that time but I knew he won't stay shut for long. I will eventually have to talk to him about the message.

I shouldn't be thinking about this right now. These are the last few hours of my birthday. I saw all my friends happy and singing and put on a big fake smile for them. They shall never know about this secret!

Justin was taking us to a place which according to him we have never been to and he called it his 'safe haven'.

"This is the place which you all have been dying to see, tadaaaaaaaa!" Justin said.

We all got out of the car. The place was just full of trees and trees and bushes and those dreadful insects.

"What are we doing here?" Kady asked. Everybody was just looking around when-

"I found a cave guys, like a literal cave," Aiden screamed excitedly.

"Dude tell me something I don't know," Mike said totally uninterested.

Ignoring Mike's comment we all walked towards the cave following Justin. Justin lights up the cave and we all sit around the fire place. I had never been in a natural cave and looked around. It was a beauty which was hidden from the world. Mike gets a carton of beer cans and hands us all one.

"Lets play seven minutes in heaven," Justin said.

"What are we, twelve?!" Aiden scoffed.

"This should be interesting," Mike said smirking at me.
I smirked back.

"Let the birthday girl begin," Zach chirped in.

I took the bottle and spined it. Coincidentally it landed on Zach.

"I have no interest in making out with Colette, no offence to you," Zach pouted.

"Nobody asked you to," I said,"It's not like I am interested."

"Okay guys, I do not care about what you do, just go behind those trees for seven minutes," Kady said impatiently.

"Uh! You guys are joking right!" I said.

"Come on Colette, it's a matter of seven minutes," Zach said standing up.

"No, I mean I'm not going there!! There are going to be insects, bugs, maybe lizards and and spiders and what not."
I started whining.

Mike got up impatiently and scooped me up. I started kicking and punching him but of course nothing happened to that giant rock. He ignored me and dropped me outside the cave.
