CHAPTER 4 You Are My Lucky Charm!

Alia couldn't sleep that night and ended up over sleeping the next morning . It was almost 10 a.m. She got due to sound of television. She stood at the door of Sehr's room and saw all her cousins having breakfast.

Suhaana saw Alia standing isolated, she walked up to her and said "All the elders have gone out, they had some marriage related work. You go and freshen up..." "Yes Alia, I'll make your breakfast, get going... fast" said Anisa popping up from beside Suhaana. Anisa, Kuwair's wife was a very sweet lady. Alia liked her a lot, even more than her brother Kuwair.

Alia turned towards the bathroom 'Both my sister-in-laws are soooo good. Alhamdullilah! My family is blessed' thought Alia. She brushed and came out, still in her blue starry pyjama and a stole around neck. As she came out of the room she found all her cousins watching some movie, whereas the ladies were busy with household work.

Alia noticed that her cousin, Samar had also arrived. They both waved and smiled at each other. Fahad and Shahweer, the son-in-laws of the family were out, busy with some work.

Alia was walking towards the kitchen when Nida called her, "Alia! Could you please go and call Ahaan, he did not have his breakfast yet, he's in the terrace" Alia nodded and made her way upstairs, as she walked, Zeeshan dramatically coughed. Alia ignored him and walked towards the stairs.

The whole family knew about Nisha's intentions and her dream for Ahaan and Alia and this only made the situation worse and complicated.

Alia went up and found Ahaan on the same place just like the day before. This time he was talking to someone on the phone, he seemed to be quite happy. Alia calmly waited for his conversation to get over. Just as he kept his phone down, Alia opened her mouth to speak but he stirred towards her and picked her up by her waist.

"YOU ARE MY LUCKY CHARM!!" He yelled "I... I got the job. They had called now and have asked me to join in next month. Thank you soooo much" He was happily swinging Alia around in his arms. "Mashallah!! I am really very happy but will you please put me down now" he put her down slowly, and their eyes met and she  skipped a beat. He was lost in her scent

"Congratulations! But I don't believe in 'Lucky charm and all" she said. Ahaan "But I do and you are my lucky charm, my motivation. Thank you so much." Alia "Okay now let's go. Only we both are left to have breakfast and I am very hungry." Ahaan "Okay let's go. I need to give this good news to others as well." They both walked down with happy faces and swollen eyes. Only one thing ran in their heads last night, Nisha's intentions.

Ahaan was about to step inside and scream out the news just then Alia pulled him back by his shirt. "What!?" he asked. Alia said "Don't you think your mom deserves to hear this news first. After all she's the one who cares for you the most. So open this news at night, when everyone is present here" Ahaan agreed but was shocked as well "You still think about her, who is trying to spoil your life." He said. Alia smiled and said "Whatever may it be, she is my phuppi and your mother. So yeah..."

They both went inside. In the kitchen, they found Kuwair and Anisa near the cooking stove. To Alia's surprise Kuwair was making pancakes. "Good morning Alia it's MY special today, just for you, how many pancakes would you like?" said Kuwair excitedly. Ahaan and Anisa were waiting for her to answer, but were shocked to hear her, "Umm... I am full, I don't want anything. Ahaan bhai, you carry on." Ahaan said "But you said you are hun..." "I am not hungry" interrupted Alia and left the place before anyone else could say anything.

Anisa said "I'll make it for you Ahaan, how many do you want" "Two" Ahaan replied, as they both saw Kuwair was all upset and walked out of the kitchen to join others to watch the movie. He did not say anything.

"What happened to her? She's behaving strange" asked Anisa. "I have no idea she said she was hungry, but I don't know what made her refuse now" said Ahaan "Don't worry Bhabhi, I'll make sure she eats something" "Thank you dear" she said. With the confidence that Ahaan will make sure Alia is alright, she made the pancakes and handed it to him.
