"We broke up." My friend Cara told me pagkadating naman sa isang kilalang pub sa may Timog.

We chose to seat at the second floor so we can see the people downstairs. We were invited by our common friend's birthday party and I decided to go because my life became pretty hectic nowadays. I need some breathe of air.

"Who this guy? Dexter or William?" I jokingly said.

"It's Xavi you fool! We just dated for a couple of months. It's just that things didn't work for the both us." She said while sipping on her favorite champange.

Cara loves to minggle. Nakailang boyfriend at ex-boyfriend na din siya. And I don't care about his love life. God. If she's broken then I will be with her. Di ko hawak ang buhay niya! She have her own life. She's independent. I mean... way too independent than me.

We became friends when we knew that our boyfriend cheated on us back in college. Yes. We both played by this unknown guy that has been existing in our earth.

"How about you with?" She looked up as she was thinking who is the last guy I had been relationship with.

"Cut the crap Cara! I've been single for one year already." I laughed while I get my wine to drink it.

What I love about our frienship is that we're busy with our own life and it wasn't that big deal for the both of us if we don't know everything.

"Oh shoot! Really?! Matagal ka ng walang dilig?! I cannot believe you! Paano mo natiis 'yon!" She said hysterically.

Gusto ko na lang takpan ang bunganga dahil ang lakas ng boses niya.

"I'm fine. I don't need a guy right now besides I'm busy with my work.

"Ang yaman yaman niyo di ka mag-work sa dad mo. It's easy step why don't you try it." She suggested.

I get her point though. My dad owned the largest food manufacture in the country. I can work in his company pero ako talaga ang nag-push sa kanya na payagan ako sa iba magwork. He loves me so much that If I started to work there, he'll just spoil me. And I won't learned. Gusto kong ipakita ang kakayahan ko not just being De Ocampo but Maria Sofia Clarisse De Ocampo.

"From the start alam mo kung bakit ayoko magtrabaho doon diba? Saka masaya naman ako sa work ko ngayon. Marangal ang trabaho ko at gusto kong paghirapan lahat ng makukuha ko. It's fullfillment! To see in your very eyes how things work out."

Three years na akong nagtatrabaho sa isang fast food chain company as a manager. I failed many times because I am over qualified for the position. I graduated as a Magna Cum Laude at a one of the famous university in the country and became an intern of my dad's company. But I didn't let them felt ashamed just because of it.

Pinatunayan ko sa kanila na kaya kong magsimula sa pinakamababa. I want myself to grow, makilala sa larangang pinili ko hindi dahil lang sa pangalan ko.

Natigil ang usapan namin ni Cara ng dumating ang birthday girl. I immediately stand up and fix my above the knee fitted dress.

"Happy Birthday Lodia." I greet her. Nakipagbeso ako at si Cara sa kanya. She was with two lady, I believed same age as mine. Ngumiti sila sa akin kaya ganoon narin ang ginawa ko.

"Thank you for coming, Sophie. You look great!" She compliment.

"No problem. Thank you for inviting me. I had a great night." I told her.

May tumawag sa kanya kaya naputol ang kwentuhan namin.

"Please excuse us I have to do this first. Have fun you two. Nice to see you again." Aniya at nagpahila na sa tumawag sa kanya. Sumunod naman ang dalawa pa niyang kasama.
