Your Mother stared you down as you took a bite of toast that was freshly popped out of the toaster. Your face twisted in confusion when you finally noticed her eyes daggering into your soul "What-?" you ask, mouth full of bread.

"I heard a voice coming from your room last night.." you rolled your eyes and turned around, knowing where this was going "It sounded an awful lot like Jacob, but I would be wrong to think a boy snuck into your room last night... wouldn't I?" You sigh annoyed with the audacity of your mother

"Really mom??" You whirl around to stare her back down "You tore me away, from my friends, my home, my life for THREE. YEARS. and your seriously going to lecture me about my friend, whom for all I know could have thought I was dead for three years, coming to see me??" Anger was fuming out of you, awakening something in you that you had to force back. Your mother looked at you stunned, angry, and... was that.. fear?

"Do not speak to me like that! You know we did that because we had to!"

"NO! You didn't have to!  Everything that happened there, could have happened here! It wouldn't have been ANY different!" You let out a snarl, that urge within you growing more. You weren't sure you could hold it back much longer.

"You know that's not true Iris! ...You know what, you're so worried about Jacob? Here with him... you could have killed him. We took you away because it was safer! For you and all of your friends!" She started to get in your face as she spoke, but you could still see fear deep in her eyes. You shook your head in frustration, pushing past her and bumping her shoulder. hard.

---

You found yourself in the woods near the reservation, head spinning. You stumble out to a more familiar place with some familiar faces "Iris?" You smile at the boys with looks of disbelief in front of you "Quil, Embry" a small chuckle escaped your lips at the bewildered boys who rushed over to you. Embry wrapped his arms around you and lift you off this ground "Where have you been girly" he let out a laugh as he set you back down. Your head was still spinning and you stumbled once he backed away. He seem to notice, but Quil didn't quite catch it. "and why were you in the woods?" Quil pipped up curiously "uh.. My mom and I had a fight. I went of to get some fresh air" Your ears started to ring. A few years of this, you'd think you'd be used to it by now. Your vision went blurry and the last thing you remembered was Embry rushing to catch you.

---

Your eyes fluttered open, your head in a daze. You tried to remember what happened and also figure out where you were right now. "Iris?" a concerned and familiar voice. Your vision focused on the boy- no. the boys beside you. Right. You remembered now. "Hey Jake" you greeted him sheepishly before apologetically looking at the very worried boys behind him. You sat up slowly and Jacob quickly moved his hand onto your back in case you were to fall back over. It was sweet how concerned and caring he was. It must be terrifying for him seeing you like this... after telling him just the other day about you being in the hospital. A pang of guilt washed over you. "I'm fine... don't worry" you tried to reassure the boys, mostly Jake, but he wasn't buying it. You had just passed out and he hadn't noticed it yesterday, but your body was unusually warm to the touch. "I'll get you some water" Quil spoke up. You smiled to him and nodded, watching him nudge Embry to go with him, he seemed reluctant, but followed. Leaving you alone with a very worried best friend and now... crush.

"What happened Iris? Embry said you just came out of the woods and then passed out seconds later... are you still sick? Iris... are you dying?" The sudden question left you almost... speechless. He searched your eyes for any answer, but you just sat there. How were you supposed to respond to that? "N-No..." You reached for his hands, holding them to try to comfort him a bit "I'm not dying, Jake. I'm fine I promise. I just get a little light-headed when I get worked up is all. It's nothing to worry about, okay?" you looked him in his beautiful brown eyes, proof you weren't lying. He nodded and let out a long breath of air he must have been holding this whole time, revealed but clearly still concerned. You let go of his hands, you heart fluttering and you nervously looked around, fully realizing where you were. It was Jacob's house; his living room specifically. You remembered it well, it hadn't changed much since the last time you were here "Where is Billy?" you questioned, noticing he wasn't around "He's uh at Harry's house right now. Picking up some food to take over to Bella's place later" Jake leaned back into the chair he was sitting in. Right. You had almost forgotten about that in your little daze. You had made plans to go with Jake and Billy over to Bella's house. Fun. You felt as if you might pass out again, though you were just over exaggerating a bit. You thought of anything to change the subject, but then your heroes swooped in.

"Here is your water my lady" Embry joked with the biggest grin on his face, handing you the water, Quil close behind. Their timing was too perfect, almost as if they sensed you discomfort in the mention of Bella. You smiled back and took the glass of water "oh, I thought Quil was getting it" you teased, taking a small sip. Jacob grinned and look up and Embry, also wanting to hear what great explanation he'd come up with. "I couldn't let him have the honor of bringing a pretty girl like you some water" you almost spit out the water in you mouth and Jake laughs, shaking his head. Quil in the background rolled his eyes. "For one, what? and for two, I am not pretty" All three boys suddenly paused and stared at you like you had two heads "What?" your eyes muti-colored eyes darted to each of them, but they didn't respond and Jake just scoffed. When you realized what was happening your cheeks started heating up and turned a flush red, your heart racing. You look away and take a drink of water, embarrassed, Earning a laugh from the boys.

---

You got to catching up with Embry and Quil, like you had done with Jake the night before and although you were talking to them, they couldn't quite help how often your eyes drifted towards Jake... Although Jake himself seemed none the wiser. They had a suspicion about the two of you before, but now it was confirmed or at least your side was. You two had been inseparable before.

Suddenly Billy and Harry came inside, talking about something, you didn't quite catch what, but they stopped when they saw the four of you sitting there "Oh Iris, you're here" He nodded up at Harry, his cue that it was fine to leave, Then wheeled over to you, two brown paper bags in his lap "It's so good to see you again. We missed having you around, specially Jake" He looked over at his son who now looked embarrassed and then open his arms to you for a hug. You happily hugged him, glad to see him too... It almost made you cry. When you separated you noticed Quil and Embry had left. Without saying goodbye? how rude. "So Jake said you wanted to come over to Charlie's and watch the game with us?" Billy interrupted you thoughts. You nodded "Uhm yea, Jake was talking about Bella, said I should meet her" Her name alone stung you.. Billy looked at you knowingly, but said nothing. "Well Alright, Let's get going then"
