The Masked Man / 4

Naruto was preparing himself for the day. He woke up little less then 20 minutes ago and was preparing for his first mission as a Chunin. He couldn't wait for it. Yet he wasn't sure what his first mission was going to be about. He considered a trip to Suna or to Wave but couldn't confirm it definitely.

Naruto left his apartment and went for a morning jog. During his training trip he and Jiraya would always start their day with a little run to warm up. At the beginning Naruto always felt like he was going to die but the more often the went for a jog the more used he got to it. And now he could not leave it out of his morning program.

The entire village was still quiet. All the other people were still sleeping. Naruto was now waking up very early in the morning. This was one of the reasons he wanted to use his morning efficiently.

But while running, he was starting to think about yesterday's serious talk with Ino. The way she approached him about his and Jiraya's training. The way she tried to comfort him. The way she embraced him. Naruto still felt happy that he was now able to open up to her and tell the truth. It hurted that he had to keep it a secret for such a long time. At this point his thoughts were driving back to Sasuke and their fight at the valley. The way he used his fox powers for the first time actively. He remembered how he wanted to hurt Sasuke to make him come back. The sadness that was stowed in Sakura turned to hatred into him. He wanted to make him pay to make him return to Konohagakure. Not the best way to approach the one person you considered a rival and good friend. And this state of emotion enabled the Kyuubi to take over. For the situation.

Now Naruto was thinking about Ino again. He's always seen here as a person who could calm him down. Who could prevent the fox to break out. And that was another reason she was so important to him. Even though this wasn't the only reason....

BOOM

Naruto's thoughts were interrupted by a loud noise that sounded just like an explosion. This early? In Konoha? He needed to check it out.

Naruto ran towards the direction of the explosion. As he arrived, he couldn't believe what he saw. A masked man stood upon a certain person. And it left Naruto cold when he recognized that person.

"Anko!!"

Anko took a short glance at Naruto before she was punched another time by the masked man. That was enough for Naruto. He rushed towards the masked man to attack him and prevent any other acts to harm Anko. Naruto summoned 3 clones and commanded them to attack the masked man. Although Naruto's clones were fast they couldn't keep up with the speed of the masked man. It seemed like he was always one step ahead of them. Soon all clones were defeated by him.

Naruto took the opportunity and rushed directly towards him to land some punches and jabs on him. Even Naruto himself had to increase his combat pace by every second he fought him. Naruto was wondering. How was it possible that this masked person was able to outspeed Naruto everytime he attacked him. With or without kunai. With or without Jutsu it didn't matter. None of Naruto's combinations were able to directly hit the attacker. And then... Naruto noticed it. A certain red spot in his left eye. The one eye and only part of his face that wasn't covered by his mask. He possesses a Sharingan. He forsees every attack I plan. Naruto shivered. This meant there was another user of the Sharingan just like Sasuke, Itachi and Kakashi. And he was certainly good at using it.

Naruto tried to think of a plan to take him down. He implied, by slowing his combat down, that he was most certainly getting tired. And you could see how safe the attacker felt. He was risking more and more direct hits than before. Naruto was able to block all of them and knew: his plan was working.
