"Here we have the babies head..now the arm..looks like it's legs are crossed..let me see if I can get a picture..of..here we go." The technician waved the ultrasound wand back and forth with the cold gel. Angel looked at the monitor. She wanted all her children to be there like the other times. Kyle, Dylan, Kayla and Liam. Kyle held Dylan as the tech moved the wand different places on Angels belly. Kayla folded her arms. Sad already about the possible outcome. Kyle and Liam were confident that their mama would have another boy. So, Kayla wanted to be sure that she let her misery be known. "It looks like it's a— "a boy." Kayla mumbled. "A—girl!" The crowd got quiet as Liam and Kyle let out a moan and Dylan placed his hand over his mouth as if to say: "uh-oh." Kayla smiled ear to ear at the news of the a new baby SISTER! Her silent prayers had been answered. Angel smiled. "Thank you ma'am." Angel reached for James hand to help her up. He grabbed her hand and helped her sit up on the chair. Kayla went for the pictures after they walked out of the room. The boys started walking towards the elevator. "Kyle! Don't let him wander off like that! Hold Dylan's hand!" Liam reached for his earbuds. "Liam! Wait til we get in the truck!" She said. "Oh, these kids." James laughed. "They keep us going." Angel laughed reaching for her sunglasses. "Are we still up to it? The museum?" Angel nodded while applying her lipstick. "Yes babe, we will go to eat at CiCis, then the museum.." "Wait mama, remember you told me that you'd pick me up some batteries and a gift for Lulas party Saturday?" Angel bumped her head. "I totally forgot..yes, thanks Kayla for reminding me..Liam! Watch the road!" James thought for a second, then slowed his wife down. "Angel, are you sure you are up to this?" "Yes, I am fine..if I don't do it when I feel like it I am best not to do it at all. James nodded. "I hope she don't regret this later.." he said to himself.
Angel laid in bed wore out. She lay across the bed in exhaustion. The day took her for a whirl, she felt fine then she felt sick all of a sudden. She hated it though, her kids needed her to be their best for them. James walked in with Dylan sucking his thumb. Angel looked up at James and gave a smile. "You tired?" James asked. Sitting Dylan down on their bed. Angel nodded. "Just a little." "Babe, you push yourself to hard..you are expecting..you know you got to take it easy." Angel nodded. "If only." She said placing her hand on Dylan's stomach as he lay there. "Oh James, I just want to get back to being myself you know? Will I ever get that way again?" James sat next to her and placed his hand on her shoulder. "Ange, baby I don't think we will ever be the same.. I do think we will change for the better." Angel nodded, perhaps we will.."are you gonna help the Kyle with his car this weekend?" "We are going to try to..gotta wait for that part to come in at Napa, should be in by Friday the man said." Angel turned her attention to her belly, "Hey..she just moved, Gracie moved." "Gracie?" "Yes, I think it would be a nice name for her don't you think? Since it is by God's grace that she is...she..will." Angel shed a tear, "Mama." Dylan grabbed for her to hold him as he dozed off to sleep. James reached over. "Ange, we will get through this I promise you." James pulled her close to him in their bed and just let her lay there. His strength helped take the weight off of her heart. The treatments were tough..it was only a matter of time before she would start losing her hair. Which seemed unreal, James would hear men compliment how beautiful his wife was. She had long black hair to her shoulders, a bright smile, tall slender built..James would catch himself eyeing other men who were checking his wife out behind his back. Angel would always tell him, "Babe, they are just jealous they are not you." James would laugh. His wife was the love of his life, they dated as teenagers and life split them apart only to bring them back together. What lay ahead was uncertain but James knew God was in control
