Just my problem (marceline x fem reader)

Chapter 10

It had been a few hours since my ordeal with princess bubblegum and night was just starting to set in so it wouldn't be long until Marcy showed up. Me on the other hand had been ready for a while now. Over prepared as usual. I looked at myself in the mirror tidying up the (F/C) dress I bought earlier today for the millionth time. I knew tonight was going to be awesome yet I was still so nervous. thousands of thoughts shot through my mind about how I could mess it up like a dummy but I tried my best to block them out. I'd been out of the dating game for a while but I'm gonna be back with a bang is what I told myself until I believed it myself.

A few minutes later I heard a light knock at the door and my stomach did a few backflips. I was so excited for today the butterflies in my stomach were going insane. I opened the door grinning but no one was there.

"Marcy?..." I shouted to no response. I frowned extremely confused. Then I felt a slender pair of arms snake around my shoulders from behind and a kiss on my cheek

"guess who" she whispered in my ear
"haha" I replied sarcastically rolling my eyes. I spun around to face her placing a swift kiss on her lips smirking. I eyed up her outfit. A sleek black dress showing off her body perfectly matched with some thigh high black leather boots.

"cute" I commented resulting in a small blush from Marcy causing me to giggle.

"come on" I said taking her hand provoking a happy hum from her as she squeezed my hand a little

"take me away my dear" I said dramatically causing us both to chuckle. after a while of wandering through the woods we reached a small clearing with a few small tables crafted from logs and fallen trees. "This place is usually open to the public but I payed the owner a little extra because I wanted the place to ourselves" she said rubbing her neck and blushing. I kissed her on the cheek sincerely "Marceline thankyou its perfect"

"Hey it could go really wrong yet" she said trying her best to not sound worried "as long as it's with you nothing could go wrong" I replied giving her hand a reassuring squeeze.

We approached a singular table in the centre of the clearing and Marcy pulled my chair out for me before going to sit in hers quickly looking at her menu. "How polite" I teased smirking at her. "Oh shush you" she said blushing and hiding behind her menu. "Hey put that down I wanna see your beautiful face" I said intensifying her blush. Reluctantly she rolled her eyes and put it down "happy now?"

"Much better" I replied before a small wooden looking man in a black suite approached us giving us both a glass of red wine causing Marcy's eyes to light up. "What can I get you two ladies tonight?" he asked politley.

"Can I get the spaghetti please" he nodded and jotted it down before turning to Marceline. "can I just have a bowl of strawberries". He again jotted it down and rushed off beyond the trees. I smiled at the cute little guy but when I looked back to Marceline she was staring deeply at me with a kind of conflicted look on her face.
"What?" I said blushing snapping her out of it a little.

Finally she began to speak "look we've been hanging out a lot lately and I'd say it's clear we like each other so I was wondering if... if." she trailed off a little. "if?" I asked confused. "If you'd wanna be my girlfriend..." she said sighing and closing her eyes as if she was expecting a negative answer. I tilted her head up and she opened her eyes as we looked at each other softly. "Of course I will silly."

A huge smile invaded her face as she quickly leaned over the table and kissed me with more passion than I'd ever experienced. Like now we were official she could give me her all in every aspect of our relationship. I certainly wasn't against this new development and I was just exited to take our relationship to new heights.
We were interrupted by someone clearing their throat as we looked down to see the waiter holding two plates of food with an extremely akward look on his face causing Marcy and I to giggle. "S..sorry" we said in unison causing us to giggle even more as he put the food on the table and swiftly left.

I was really hungry so I finished my spaghetti pretty quick but it was slow in comparison how quickly Marceline drained the red from her strawberries. "You really love red huh?" I asked gesturing to her plate with raised eyebrows. "Oh yeah. you don't know how hard it's been not to drain those rosy cheeks of yours" she joked winking at me. "Oh don't tempt me" I replied going a long with the joke blushing just a little. Our laughing however was soon interrupted by the sound of trees cracking and breaking. The noise was gradually getting closer causing us both to exchange worried looks.

Something big was coming....
