Chapter 9: Say We All

Before we start I just want to point out that in the fighting portion of this chapters and the chapters to come. I'm changing a few scenes from the episode to match with the new villains. Some will most likely stay the same. That's all enjoy the story.

Narrator's P.O.V

As time grew near for the heroes to report to Haven. The villains also started preparations. Shadow examines his pistol and ammo. Kane checked if his arm guards were tightened. No words were exchanged before until Kane turns to Shadow.

Kane: What's your semblance?

Shadow stood quiet for a moment. Taking his trident in hand and putting it on his back. Shadow holsters his pistol and throws his hood over. Shadow turns to Kane. His face was covered in darkness as the only light was the red lights of his mask.

Shadow: It's complicated.

The only words Shadow mustered before walking out. Kane watched him leave. What a strange man. Kane thought as he picked up his sword and sheathed it on his back. Kane grabs his pistol and loads it with fresh rounds before leaving. As Kane left the room, Shadow was lent against a wall.

Shadow: Why do you fight? "Shadow asked suddenly. Kane stops and stands there for a moment before speaking. Kane sighs and turns to face him.

Kane: To get back at those Schnee fuckers.

Shadow: That's not all.

Kane: How would you know?

Shadow: It took a moment for you to respond. You're either lying.... or hiding something. "Shadow stated as he walks closer to Kane. Their height was even. Kane just chuckled before speaking.

Kane: You're smarter than I thought. I've underestimated you. "Kane turns away with his back facing Shadow. "It's too personal to talk about.

Kane left Shadow in the room alone. Clenching his fist. Shadow spoke to himself.

Shadow: Guess it's common around here.

Meanwhile in a shuttle far from Menagerie. Rain and Sun were speaking to each other. Telling jokes. Blake and Illa were also speaking to each other. Rain notices Huriko's silence throughout the ride. Rain dismiss the conversation between her and Sun and made her way to Huriko who sat silently against the window looking out into the sea below. Rain sat next to her.

Rain: Hey. Is something wrong? "Rain asked with concern. Huriko was silent for a moment. Rain was about to leave when Huriko finally spoke.

Huriko: Why did we have to kill that man?

Rain was confused. That question was odd. Huriko looks at Rain for a answer. Her face was emotionless. Unreadable.

Rain: You're still worked up about that? We had no choice, Huri. "Rain spoke. Huri was nickname she gave Huriko. "It was either them or us.

Huriko: Still. We've could've apprehend him.

Rain: Why does it bother you anyway?

Huriko: You don't get it, Rain. "Huriko pulled her legs close to her chest and locked them with her arms. "I don't like death or killing. Even if it's not done to me... I hate seeing people die or get hurt. I'm scared to kill... to die, I don't like it
