The Beginning

~Chapter Four~

Recap:  The last thing they saw before blacking out was three blurry figures walking to Oli. Then all was silent, calm, and a voice talking to Oli.

"H-o? H-y. "

"Are you ok?"

Oli snapped her eyes open, only to be greeted by a soul crushing dark void.

"Hi!" A voice said.

'Where is that coming from?'

Oli turned around to be greeted by a galaxy looking Steve. ' Why does he seem familiar too?... I feel like I know him.'

"My name is Galaxy Steve! What is yours?" Galaxy Steve asked tilting his head a bit to the side. "You aren't a Steve I've seen before!"

Oli simply smiled. ' I feel like I can trust him. '. Oli just shrugged.
' I don't know what I am, but I'm not a Steve that's for sure. '

"Oh! Well that makes sense!" Galaxy Steve said, smiling. " You are only one person, so you don't know!"

Oli nodded.

" You seem tired, what happened to you out there?" Galaxy said, stepping a little closer to Oli.

~Oli's POV~

'What does he mean by out there?'
I tilted my head as to say "What?"
Galaxy Steve smiled and said, "You know... Before you passed out?"

'Oh. Well it's not like I can tell him'
I thought with annoyance. So I did the next best thing, gestures. I pointed to my throat, made a fist, and pulled my hand away from my throat.

Galaxy Steve seemed kind shocked after a few seconds of it sinking in.

"Someone muted you?" He said worriedly.

'That is one way to put it. I can still talk, but... Things get rough...' , so I just nodded.

'Even if not all my memory is in tact I know this, especially with the scar along my neck' .

"Oh, well I'm sorry... I never got your name, what is it? "

I looked at him for a second, then made a O with my hand.

"O" Galaxy Steve repeated

Next I made a L with my hand.

"L" He repeated.

Then I pointed to my eye.

"I?" He said confused.

I nodded, satisfied that he understood my gestures.

"So your name is Oli? * You pronounce it as, "Ah-lee" *

Again, I nodded.

Then the dark void started getting brighter, as panic was obvious on both my and Galaxy Steve's face. Then a weird static noise started to fill my ears. It was too bright to see, and I find myself passing out again.

Flashback

It's all dark.
I can't see!
Where am I?
*Indistinct voices*

...

"Prepare subject 0L1 for test number 145. "

" Yes sir. "

Test!?!

Let me out!
I need to get out!
No more!

*Whirring of a machine followed by screaming*

NO!

Are they dead?
Am I dead?

What did I do to deserve this?

What have I done wrong?

*Shocking sounds*

Let darkness swallow me whole.

Let me die.

Let me rest.

Let me drown in darkness, forever alone.

I feel myself forgetting what's left of me.

Taking my emotions with it, and all my memories.
