Keith woke up with a start and rolled over to realize he wasnt alone in the bed. Lance was sleeping next to him and Keith was relieved to see that his pants and shirt were still on. Okay.... we can work with that. He thought.

He untangled himself from Lance's arms and stumbled sleepily to the bathroom. When he was washing his hands, Keith saw something that made his heart sink.

The raven haired boy picked the beaded bracelet out of the trashcan and slipped it into his bag. Why, Lance? What happened? Keith looked back at Lance to realize he was awake.

The Cuban rubbed his eyes and laid back down, unaware of what Keith had just did. "Why are you up?" He mumbled.

"Bathroom." Keith said and sat back down next to Lance. "What about you?"

"I can't sleep. Not without thinking about- I can't.

Keith didnt know how to respond, so he simply say there, rubbing the Cuban's back until he fell asleep once more.

When Lance woke up the second time, Acxa was waiting for him in the kitchen. "How'd you sleep?"

"Not great," Lance admitted. He rubbed his eyes and yawned. As he stretched his arms above his head, his pajama shirt lifted a little to show his solid abs. There was movement by the door and Lance turned, arms still stretched, in keith's direction. "Hey."

"Uh, hey. Did you sleep-"

"No." Lance muttered and Acxa gave Keith a warning look. Nodding slightly, Keith walked into the kitchen and returned with two cups filled with steaming coffee. He handed one to Lance and took his to a chair, sitting on one leg.

Not knowing what to say, Keith looked towards the woman for help. "I know this is hard Lance, but we need to talk about the details." She said. "I have hired one of my men to be a guard for you as well."

Baffled, Lance turned towards her, ignoring Keith's confused look. "I don't need a bodyguard."

"Lance-"

"If my father comes anywhere near me-"

"Lance we are not at liberty to discuss-"

"I don't give a fuck whether or not Keith hears this!" The tan boy was yelling now, on his feet. "If my dad tries anything to get near me I will deal with it!"

Acxa simply looked at him. "Too bad. You are assigned to one of my associates, James Griffin. Ordered by the law. He works closely with the man you two will be working for."

Up until this point, Keith had been quiet, but finally he spoke up. "I can protect you too." The others stared at him. "Wait...James Griffin?" It couldn't have been the same James...right? Ignoring the name and focusing on the important, Keith added "I know my way around a knife."

Acxa gave him a small smile but Lance wouldn't have it. "I don't need protection from my own father. If he is who you say he is, I can deal with it." But he knew he wasn't getting out of this one.

Lance sat back down and picked up his cup of coffee.

The day was the same as the previous one; Lance went with Acxa to talk about his dad and Keith explored Cuba some more. He had found the beach and was sitting down on a beach towel Acxa had given him when a girl walked up to him.

She was attractive- tan, golden brown eyes. "Are you Keith Kogane by any chance?"

For a minute Keith felt a twinge of fear. How did this girl know who he was? "That depends on who is asking."
