Recap:
"Aw! My daughter is so perfect, excellent skill as always. You worked for me as hard as you did last week! I'll reward you with (favorite/flavor) ice cream after dinner!" Yuno beamed.
"...For me like last week...?"
Chapter 19: Your First Tasks
Gasai-san glanced up at my with a menacing smirk, "Of course, she's been on top of her studies for the longest time. Just like a Gasai should be." Gasai-san giggled, and (Y/n) gave a small smile.
Right after she said that the sound of metal hitting the floor echoed throughout the bottom floor of the house.
(Y/n) instantly turned to the origin of the sound, got up, and asked, "Chichi, do you need help?"
I glanced at the kitchen, making eye contact with Yukiteru. "No, no. You're piano teacher will be here soon, just get ready," he chuckled, scratching the back of his head.
(Y/n) nodded and walked to the grand piano, pulling out the chair.
"As for you Akise, let's get you settled in before dinner is ready. I believe you left your luggage in the trunk." Gasai-san says, glancing from Yukiteru to (Y/n).
I nodded and copied Yukiteru's embarrassed expression, and we went to retrieve my luggage.
Luggage. She likely prepared this one specifically for what she plans on having me do. Considering the circumstances, this deduction is more than likely correct.
Gasai-san opened the truck from the porch and let me fetch it. It was a dark blue box with black rounded corners for protection, and it had nothing but a simple handle on the middle to allow me to carry it. Upon first picking it up, it was much heavier than what you'd expect for a usual travel luggage. It's likely filled with supplies for what I need to accomplish my task to get (Y/n) back.
Gasai-san smiles once I got back, saying, "And now for your room." I nodded as the sound of a car passing by got louder, eventually stopping. Turning around, a man with dark purple hair covering a red eye stepped out of the car. Gasai-san smiles at him, and waves him over.
"Hajimemashite?" He bows, his silky voice filling the air with grace and calmness in this situation. Something's off about him, but I can't tell what it is...
"Okagesama de." Yuno says bowing. "Yuniku's warming up in the living room, please don't mind our guest and Yuki fumbling in the kitchen." she says with a small laugh.
"Of course." he replies, doing a small bow to me and walking inside.
I glanced at his appearance. He dressed very formal and professional, and he carried a folder. Probably filled with lesson papers. But why am I still on edge? It's obvious he can't harm (Y/n), but I still can't stop looking for any signs of him doing so.
"That man..." Gasai-san starts, "has a vey peculiar aura. But I looked into him, and he doesn't have any intent on hurting us."
"Are you sure?" I ask. "He could've been sent here by someone." I say, narrowing my eyes.
"Let's not worry about it. I'll kill him if he gets in the way of my and Yuki's life." she replies, her clouded eyes fixated on the man.
Gasai-san and I walked upstairs and in front of a room. Next to it was another room who's door was decorated with stickers and drawings. It was (Y/n)'s. Gasai-san opened the door and walked it. I closed the door behind me, knowing what would follow.
She then spoke to me, "Your clothes are already in the closet. You're also living next to Yuniku. Don't take advantage of that, I have precautions set in case you try anything." Her glare didn't frighten me, but I nodded.
"What about my tasks? What do I need to do?" I say, my eyes focusing on her.
"I need to kill everyone left in the game." Gasai-san states.
"Obviously, but what about me and
(Y/n)." I ask, rolling my eyes."You two were never part of the game, but your diaries are the the strongest ones. On top of that, both of you were just created by Deus." Gasai-san says nonchalantly.
I felt shock all throughout my body. "Both... of us...? Created by Deus...?"
Still trying to process the new information I've gained, Gasai-San says, "Right. Both of you were purposely created. I don't know what (Y/n)'s purpose was, but it was easy to change her being."
I continued trying to think that through. Was she made to watch me? Did she come before or after? Maybe after..?
"Don't worry about it. Now you know I can bring your (Y/n) back. Just focus on your task." she says, waving off my breakdown.
"Eighth and the Seventh's are working together. We'll deal with them first since they'll be the easiest, and it was like that in the previous games. You need to get in contact with the Ninth and bring her here by tomorrow. Tell her I want that detective here too. Next, get those detectives that's investigating my house to retreat. Lastly, you'll be getting information on the Eleventh."
I nodded and reply, "So you intend on getting the assistance of Ninth to take out the Seventh's?"
"No, for the Eleventh and Eighth." she corrected.
"How will you take care of the Seventh's?" I ask, wanting to get a better idea of her agenda.
"You don't need to know." she says, heading for the door.
"Just do what I tell you." she opened the door and added, "Please join us for dinner once Yuki's ready." Faking a happy tone, she then walked off to a different room.
Closing the door, I sighed. Plopping down on the bed I ask myself, "Why is does a god need me and (Y/n)?"
I turned on my phone and started to make the calls.
