Chapter 21: The Meeting

The sound of foot steps and something being carried down the stairs woke up Aru. Groggily he turned to the clock. "3:00 AM... Yuno's gone," he notes to himself. He sighed and tried to go back to sleep, but heard a door squeak open. It was (Y/n)'s. Gritting his teeth in anger from his throbbing head, he threw himself out of bed like Kermit falling off a building.

"The things I'll do for you..." he says with the shake of his head.

He opened his door and saw a small figure peeking down the stairs. (Y/n) was holding a cat plushy. It was white with two small red dots for eyes. She also happened to hold it in a small blue blanket.

She tiredly turned around to face Aru and says, "Aru... what are you doing here...?" Squatting down to her level, he replies, "I should be asking you that. The sun isn't even out yet." "I know, but I think Mommy went to work..." she says, rubbing her eyes. "Well you should stay in bed if that's the case." Aru says, fighting off a yawn himself. (Y/n) shook her head and says, "Mommy should be in bed too then. I... also can't sleep anymore." "Why's that?" Aru asks, wondering if Yuno was using some sort of power to keep her up. "I just can't..." she replies. "Why don't we talk?" Aru suggests, taking her small hand in his.

They walked to her room and (Y/n) laid down in her bed, while Aru sat on her stuffed toy pile in the corner of the room. Jesus she had a lot of plushies. He imagined her drowning in them, no he was the one drowning! Aru instantly snapped wide awake when the thought occurred to him. He turned around and looked at all the toys that were staring back at him. "I need some sleep..." he tells himself.

"Aru... what do you do for a living?" (Y/n) asks, staring up at the ceiling. "I'm a detective. I hope to be a world-class-detective someday," he replies back, getting comfortable in the mountain. "That's cool... I'm sure you can to that," she nods at him. He looked at her though the darkness and asks, "Why do you think that?" "You just... seem like the type of person who can achieve what they want to..." she whispers, her voice growing weaker with each word. When Aru got up to examine her, she was already fast asleep. "Goodnight..." he whispers, making sure to lock her door on his way back to his room.

In the morning Aru felt his heart sink when his phone read 10:50 AM. He was shocked at himself for getting up so late. Probably the latest he's ever been... What surprised him more was to see (Y/n) and Yukiteru just getting around to get breakfast. Yukiteru looked away from his paper and says, "Good morning, haha... We all got up late I guess. And of course Yuno's already at work. Why don't you have some breakfast?" Aru only nodded and filled his plate.

It turns out Yuno also asked for Yukiteru to show Aru around town. And that they did. They went to a decent cafe for food, the mall, got more plushies... the whole shabang. Around 4:00, Yukiteru got a text. He told the two that Yuno has two shareholders coming for dinner at 5:00, so they headed home. During the ride Aru had his palm on his cheek and elbow on the armrest, wondering how their meeting with the Ninth and Nishijima would play out.

Dinner was rather... awkward. Ninth didn't expect Yuno to actually have food out. Nishijima was shocked that (Y/n) was back in grade school, and Yukiteru was so... fatherly. Nevertheless, after the appetizer they got down to business.

"As much as this meal is nice, it isn't what I came here for," Ninth starts.

Nishijima puts his utensils down and agrees, "That's true... I have many questions about what I'm looking at."

Stirring her wine, Yuno says, "To start off... that's Yuniku, my daughter."

The couple turned their heads, repeating the word daughter.

Yuno only nods and says, "I'll eliminate the Sevenths tomorrow. I'd like your corporation for Eighth and Eleventh."

Aru gasped and furred his brows. 'She's really saying this in front of Yukiteru and (Y/n)!?'

"Ho?~ And what do I get out of this?" Ninth asks, amused.

"You get to live. I'll take out Deus after we take care of the others." Yuno put in plain while taking another sip of her drink.

Ninth looked dead in Yuno's eyes, "'Take out Deus?' You're a crazy psycho bitch. I'll give you that. But take out Deus? What bullshit is that!?"

Yuno sighs and snaps. A paper drawing of a (Pokémon) flies into the room and materialized in (Y/n)'s lap. She smiles at it and gives it a hug.

"I can create life for instance..." Yuno starts, but Ninth shouts, "HOW!? That's impossible!"

"I won the games in a the first world and came here. Now that I have these powers I can stop Deus," she replies.

"Why not stop the games entirely?" Aru asks curiously in a snapping matter.

Yuno smirks and says, "Many events wouldn't have happened. You would've never met (Y/n). I would've never gotten close to Yuki, and Ninth and Nishijima wouldn't have became a couple. I needed that to happen first. Above all, my chances of winning against Deus were slim since he was still at full power when creating he game."

Aru gulped and thought, 'That's true but... we wouldn't be suffering from this fate as well...'

"And why do you want to get rid of the Eighth!? She's just trying to survive and take care of her kids!" Nijishima interjects.

"I could care less about her... it all depends on my ability to take out Deus at that time. We need to keep him distracted with the game until then," Yuno states.

Ninth points out, "Isn't he watching now!?"

Yuno shook her head, "He's too weak for that. MuruMuru only reports what happens to him. But Deus can still know when we die."

"Alright..." Ninth thinks to herself. "I'll work with you... But you better not fuck this up."

"We all want this to end..." Aru states, getting the stare of (Y/n).

Yukiteru nods, "Yuno winning would mean she won't have to kill me. That's your guarantee in this deal."

Nishijima stands up to leave while extending his hand to Ninth, wanting to help her get up, "Looks like we got ourselves a deal then."
