Raffine and Amitie walked to school with confidence that day but scared at the same time.

What if she doesn't like me?

Why was I so mean to her?

What if she laughs at me?

What if she has another date already?

They held the others lost item tightly and walked into separate school entrances. They noticed each other in the crowd of students and blushed. Raffine went to go talk to her when suddenly Sig walked up to Amitie. Raffine didn't want to eavesdrop, but she did out of curiosity.

Sig caught up with Amitie and tapped her shoulder "Hey Amitie,"

"Sig! Hey, I wanted to ask you something."

Sig tilted his head, "What's up?"

"Are you going to the Spring Formal tomorrow? I wanted you to come with me."

Raffine felt her heart shift. Wait...she's going with...Sig? Raffine tightened her fist and looked down at the floor; she felt like she could cry. She ran to her classroom quickly to distract herself.

The class was awkward for the two, they kept looking at each other in intervals, and when one caught the other, they would shove their face in a book. Several hours of this went by when finally school dismissed. Raffine and Amitie stayed behind in the class, and they looked at each other, completely silent. Raffines hand twitched when suddenly she ran out of the classroom. Amitie jolted at this and chased after her "Raffine! Wait!" Raffine ran out of the school, and Amitie tried to follow her.

They were in such a rush, they left the others lost items on their desks.

Raffine was fast and agile, she dashed out of sight into the deep forest. Amitie stood at the pathway into the woods and ran in.

Amitie had been walking for a while, almost 30 minutes. By then it was getting dark out, but she finally she found Raffine on the sand by the river. Amitie walked up to her, slightly panting "Raffine..." Raffine looked up, her face was soaked with tears. Amitie sat next to her as they watched the last bit of sunlight shine on them through the trees. Amitie looked at her and then at the river.

"I..." Raffine stammered.

"What is it?" Amitie asked.

"I...I...I'm..." Raffine stuttered, covered her mouth.

"I'm sorry, Amitie." Raffine cried, looking at Amitie with the tears, the tears she hid from all of the world except her, seeping from her eyes. "I've... I've been a real jerk to you..."

Amitie lightly blushed and smiled at her "It's okay, I knew you were a nice person, I always have, Raffine." Raffine wiped tears from her eyes and grabbed Amitie in an embrace, blushing deeply. Amitie leaned onto Raffine and hugged her back tightly as the sun set on there skin. Amitie shifted her head onto Raffines chest and listened to her heartbeat. Raffine put a hand on the back of Amities hair and rested her chin on her head. They sat there like this for a while, just apologizing without words.

"Amitie..."

"Yeah?"

"I know you're going with Sig to the spring formal but-"

Suddenly Amitie burst out laughing "Raffine! I'm not going with him in that way!" Raffine pulled away from there hug, them both on there knees facing each other.

"Y-you aren't?"

"Yeah!"

Raffine looked down, they both were blushing hard. Raffine looked down at Amitie and lifted her chin.

"Raffine-"

"I have feelings for you."

Amitie was silent, maybe in shock. Her ex-bully just confessed to her...

Raffine welled up with more tears, "I'm sorry! I just needed you to know! Once..." Raffine bolted up and went to run away when Amitie grabbed her arm and pulled her down with all her might. Raffine fell on top of her, sitting on her lap. She turned bright red and tensed up out of embarrassment.

"Raffine, I want you to be in love with me...because... I'm in love with you." Raffine loosened up, and her eyes shimmered. Raffine put her hands on Amities cheeks and pulled her into a kiss. Amitie wrapped her arms around Raffine and kissed her back. They stayed like that for a second before moving away from each other.

"R-Ra..." Amitie stammered.

Raffine kissed her again, grabbing onto her waist. Amitie let out a big laugh, and Raffine pulled away and smiled. Amitie leaned against Raffine, they wrapped their arms around each other. They wanted to stay like this, holding onto each other, forever.
