Chapter 8.5: The Fight

Previously on Dog Days

After the war started between Galette and Biscotti, (Y/N) and Cinque met each other at Cerese Fortress for their battle.

(Y/N): "Cinque! It's time. To battle."

Cinque got ready to fight and they lunged at each other and their staffs collided.

3rd POV

They passed each other after their weapons hit. They both turned around to face each other and charged again. (Y/N) jumped and tried to land an axe kick on Cinque, but Cinque quickly reacted and brought his staff above him and blocked (Y/N)'s attack. Cinque then spoke to (Y/N) while continuing to attack him.

Cinque: "(Y/N)! Please listen to me! You don't have to do this! You're my friend aren't you?! Why are you doing this?!" He said while blocking everyone of (Y/N)'s attack and then he replied.

(Y/N): "You're going to have to win this fight to get me to tell you why! I'm only following Her Majesty's orders! I gave my loyalty to her and only her. I'm sure you've done the same for the dog Princess." He said

What (Y/N) said made Cinque angry. Cinque then split his staff and made them into two separate spears. He jumped towards his friend while (Y/N) was preparing to block. But Cinque was two quick and landed a hit on him. (Y/N) rubbed a finger on his cheek and saw a little bit of blood on it. He was shocked but impressed at his friends action.

(Y/N): "Oh I'm impressed Cinque. You actually managed to cut a part of my face. But now it's my turn!" He shouted and threw his staff up and it changed into a spear with blades on each end of the staff.

Cinque was surprised by this and then got back into his battle stance and then ran towards (Y/N) and jumped upward to try and use a double slash to inflict more damage onto (Y/N). But (Y/N) was too quick for this and landed a powerful uppercut onto Cinque sending him flying upward. Cinque quickly did a backflip to land on his feet after the punch he received. (Y/N) lunges at him and slashed Cinque's are cutting it slightly. Cinque grunted in pain and held his arm for a second and then looked at (Y/N).

(Y/N): "You cut my skin. I cut yours." He said with a smirk

Cinque got angry and then ran towards (Y/N) once again. Cinque changed his weapon into a longsword and took a swing at (Y/N). (Y/N) saw the sword coming towards him and quickly changed his weapon to a claymore and blocked Cinque's attack. They backed away and then charged at each other again and swung their swords and spun around to jump away. They both smirked and then a cut appeared on both of their stomachs along with tears in their cloths. Then (Y/N) did something that Cinque never expected him to do.

(Y/N): "Let's see if we can make this fight more fun with the power used in Flonyard. I was told by Gaul that your able to use something called shining power. I asked Her Majesty about it and she trained me to use it. Shining power of Galette vs Shining power of Biscotti." He said with an evil grin

(Y/N) then powered up and summoned his shining power and created lion claws with it and also used it to amplify his claymore. Cinque was shocked by what his friend was able to do but snapped of it and did the same thing. He summoned his shining power and amplified his sword and got ready to fight (Y/N). They both lunged toward each other and there weapons clash. The force of the impact the weapons made was powerful enough to make rocks break away from the cliff sides and fall towards them. They saw the rocks coming and jumped away from each other to dodge to falling rocks. (Y/N) took this opportunity to try and knock Cinque out and take Palladion from him. Cinque saw quickly turned to see (Y/N) but wasn't fast enough to stop his attack. (Y/N) managed to land a downward kick into Cinque which threw him into the ground, but Cinque countered the impact of the ground by stabbing his weapons into the rocks so break his fall. Cinque got back up and was covered in scrapes and bruises and then threw his weapon away and spoke to (Y/N).

Cinque: "(Y/N) please. End this. I don't want to keep fighting you like this. Just tell me why this is happening! Why are you doing this?!" he pleaded

(Y/N) just stood there and his serious expression reappear on his face and spoke.

(Y/N): "I've devoted my heart and loyalty to Her Majesty Leonmichelli. She is my leader and I'll do her bidding by any means. And I won't end this fight until I've retrieved Palladion for her."

Cinque was in udder shock that his friend would be like this for the enemy. A small tear formed in his left eye because he just couldn't believe his own brother in arms would be like this.

Cinque: "Why? Why would you commit to someone like her?! Waging a war suddenly without reason-"

(Y/N): "She has her reasons for why she started the war! She didn't reveal them to anyone else except to me, our general and her personal maid. But even though her information was shared to me I won't tell you why!" He said sternly but started to become slightly sad because of the vision he saw from Leo.

(Y/N) quickly snapped his mind back into the fight and charged at Cinque again. Cinque brought sword up quickly and blocked (Y/N)'s attack. The force from the attacks pushed them back but they kept charging towards each other repeating the same thing. Cinque had enough of this and he leaped at (Y/N) and punched him as hard as he could in the stomach knocking the breath out of (Y/N) and causing him to spit saliva. He regained his breath and stood up and stumbled a little bit. Cinque managed to weaken (Y/N) a little bit, but he knew that he wouldn't give up very easily. They continued to fight but they were unaware that Gaul and his army were on the way. But they kept fighting, and fighting, and fighting until their bodies couldn't go on anymore. They looked at each other, exhausted, bleeding slightly, and bruised. They got into their stance and got ready for one last strike. (Y/N) let out a roar of anger and charged at Cinque who charged at
(Y/N).
