Chapter 14

He took me to the hospital and Chase, Dylan, Talia, Cynthia, and Jackson met him there. I was in my hospital room and they were all in the waiting room.

~Payton's POV~

Oh my god how could this happen? How could I let this happen? I felt my hands shaking so I stood up and asked the doctor...

Payton: so is she okay?

Doctor: yes Sophie is fine but she has some head injuries from whatever blows she got to her head. It might take a while for her to fully recover but she will recover fully if she takes the right steps.

Payton: ok that's good to hear. Can I go see her?

Doctor: yes you may. Down the hall, second door to your left. Room 7. Just make sure to be quiet and calm.

Payton: ok thank you so much!

I told the others and we all started walking to her room. Right before I opened the door I took a deep breath and opened it. She was sitting up sorta sleeping. When the door opened her eyes fluttered a little bit and she looked up at all of us with a blank stare. So I said,

Payton: "hey Sophie how are you feeling?"

I said stepping closer to her.

Sophie: um wait I'm confused...

Payton: why? It's Payton.

Sophie: I'm sorry I don't know a Payton. Or a you (she said pointing to Chase) or you either (she said pointing to Talia)

I stood there shocked. I looked back at Dylan and saw him fighting back tears looking at the floor. I felt tears flooding my eyes. I didn't want to cry in front of her so I ran out of the room and I heard Chase and Jackson yelling my name but I didn't care. I kept running with tears streaming out of my eyes. I got to the doctor and yelled...

Payton: WHATS WRONG WITH HER?!

Doctor: oh my gosh I'm so sorry I was just about to tell you she had amnesia but I didn't say it soon enough.

Payton: "how? What? Why?"

I said feeling weak.

Doctor: I'm sorry all you can do now is leave her alone and when both of you feel comfortable introduce yourselves again. Be nice about it don't force anything.  Take time. I'll leave you alone for now. You look like you need sleep. I'm sorry.

I felt my eyes burning and I felt like I couldn't cry anymore so I just sat there. I sat on the floor against the hospital walls.

I can't believe my girlfriend forgot who I was.

I can't believe the love of my life forgot who I was.

I can't believe my BESTFRIEND forgot who I was...
