(Okay I just want to share something embarrassing because it's funny and kinda sad. When I was like 15 I had the hugest crush on this man. Like I had posters and omg I just wish I could go back in time and roast myself. Anyways enjoy.)
A late night swim at the beach sounds great. Looking over to my left there was a group of people down the other side. I brushed it off and didn't care if I looked weird taking a late night swim. Stepping in the water it felt great on my skin.
"Hey miss? Do you know where a pay phone is at?" I turn around and cover myself with my arms. "No.. sorry. Wait did you say a pay phone?" The man started getting in the water and he was coming towards me. "What are you doing?" He didn't say anything and he looks really creepy. "Help! Someone help!" I back away while calling out for help. I hoped that anyone heard me calling for help.
Suddenly someone else came in the water and the creepy man was hit in the back of the head. I move back so I can let the man fall in the water. Looking up I see a guy with a thin hoodie and some cargo shorts. He smiled briefly and his teeth were so white. "Thank you for helping me." The guy smiles and then reaches out for a handshake. "Well I'm glad to help. I'm Taylor." I shake his hand and smile. Taylor. He's cute. "Y/n."
We waited for the cops to take the creep in and I gave my statement. "Well.. would you like a ride home?" Taylor asked while putting his hands in his pockets. "Actually I would like to get to know the man that saved me. If that's okay?" Taylor smiled and he gestured me to walk in front. I pick a spot between the shore and a rock wall. I hope it wasn't creepy of what I said. "So what would you like to know?" I sigh then think for a bit. "Well the first thing I want to say is I think you're really brave for saving me and I think you're cute. I hope I'm not stepping over the line here, I just needed to get that out."
Taylor chuckles and its the cutest laugh that I've ever heard. "Well you're welcome, you really didn't have to thank me. I also think you're cute as well y/n." He smiles and I get lost in his eyes as the moonlight shed some light on them. "So what brings you to the beach?" Taylor's smile went away, as a matter of a fact everything went away. I think I'm crossing a line here and I need to think of something quick. "I came for a late night walk because I found my girlfriend with another guy in our hotel room." I bite my lip and mentally beat myself up.
So his girlfriend cheated on him? Why on earth would she do that? That girl must have really jacket up thoughts, I almost feel sorry for her. "My friend Alex invited me to that party that's over there but I don't feel like going now. I want to make sure you're safe." I look up at Taylor, "Safe? Really? I mean.. not to sound rude or anything but I hardly know you." Taylor faintly smiles and nods his head, "That's true and I think its pretty cool that were getting to know each other." I look at him for a second then I notice that I'm staring at him, he looks at me by turning his head and I quickly look away. Shit I hope I didn't make things awkward.
"Is everything okay?" I hesitate to answer that question, I even hesitate to look him in the eye. "Yeah its just crazy.." Taylor cocks his head a little, "What is?" Thinking for a moment of what to say, "If you decided to stay home and not come to the party, something bad would've happened to me." Taylor took everything in and realized that life can be different with just one decision. "Wow do you always think deeply? I mean that's cool if you do, its just that kinda took me by surprise." I nod my head while drinking my water that I brought with me. Again there was that awkward silence and the waves were the only thing I could concentrate on.
"So can I talk to you about anything or is there a limit?" I look over to him, "You can talk to me about anything you want, there's no limit. I wanted to ask you the same thing but I was afraid." Taylor laughs lightly, "Why are you afraid of me?" I wrap the towel around me because I was cold. Taylor got up on his two feet then took off his sweater that he was wearing and handed it to me. I noticed his abs and I didn't want to make things weird so I looked down while putting on his sweater. "Thank you Taylor." I stretched the sweater over my knees while they were against my chest. "So why were you afraid?" My lips parted but nothing came out. I have never been great at talking to guys so saying this next part is a little risky. "I mean you're hot so it's like I need to be careful what I say because I don't want to scare you off."
"Just hot though?" I couldn't tell if he was offended and I hoped that I didn't step over a line, "I mean I'm pretty sure that there's more to you than just good looks..." He smiles and playfully shoves me to the side, "I'm just messing with you y/n, I'm sure you mean well."
For the rest of the night Taylor and I got to know each other on a deep level and there was so many stories that I would never imagine. From getting his arm broken as a kid to his first heartbreak. There were so many of our pieces and we talked until I saw that the sun was rising just a little. I quickly get my phone and check the time. "Oh my god, we've been talking for about eight hours straight." I get up and take off Taylors sweater then hand it to him. "No keep it for now." He helps me up and then he walks me to my car. Before entering I turn to see him, "Do you mind if I get your number? I would like to take you out soon if that's okay." I smile wide then hand him my phone.
