This one shot is from the movie L.A. Confidential. If you haven't seen it then you should! It's a good movie if you're into the 40s or 50s. It's kinda like L.A. Noire and if you haven't played that well I don't know what to tell ya. Enjoy! (Also it's the guy on the right.)
I made my way inside they police station for the third time this week. "Where is detective Exley?" I ask the officer at the front and he pointed to his desk. I quickly made my way to the detectives desk. My heels were giving me away and when he looked up he saw me. Closing a file while I was approaching him. "Miss l/n hows your morning so far?" I roll my eyes "have you found my son?"
"No but I was looking at the file. Listen Miss l/n, I admire your dedication to coming here everyday but you have to let us do our job."My eyes water up and I take out a unused tissue from my clutch purse. I sit down on a nearby chair and dry my eyes. "I will get the best detective on it."
"Why can't you do it?" Looking in his eyes. "I'm going to have a promotion soon, I won't be a detective anymore." You see I've had my eye on detective Exley for a while, before my son was kidnaped. I've always thought he was brave and kind. The other officers don't like him because he told on another officer. He just wants to be the good guy and make justice happen."Well I think you should go home and try to relax." He stands up and expects me to do the same. "Detective... oh never mind, I'll just head straight home." I stare into his eyes and I swear I got lost in them but I quickly snapped out of it and made my way out.
Detective Exley's POV
"You know she likes you right?" Detective Monroe said standing next to me with a chocolate doughnut and coffee. I chuckle and fix my glasses "No she doesn't." I sit back down on my desk and open up the file. "She does, she's friends with my wife and my wife and I share everything." I glance at Monroe then back at the file. "I mean.. she's a beautiful woman but.." I didn't know what to say because there hasn't been a woman in my life. It's always just been work all the time. "You should go talk to her." Monroe tells me then he sips his hot coffee. I grab my car keys and run out of the police station.
Y/n's POV
When the cab stopped I paid for the ride then I started walking up to my house. As I was getting the keys out of my clutch there was a note attached to the front of my door. I looked around and there was no one around but Mr. Robinson cutting his grass. I step further and cautiously rip the note off the door.
Come to the junk yard by yourself at 9 p.m.
It was my son, I know it. A car pulled up and a man was getting out. It was Edmund I pushed my hair up and walked towards him. I felt eyes on me so I needed to do something to make it seem like he wasn't a cop. "Y/n umm I-" I thought a kiss was going to cover the tracks. Edmund went with it but I could tell he was surprised. Pulling apart he asked "what is this about?"
"Can we go somewhere and talk? Preferably somewhere safe?" He escorts me to the passenger side of the car and we drive off. "Where do you want to go?" I look on the rear view mirror and saw a black car starting its engine. "Okay listen you see that black car behind us? Loose it."After about ten minutes he finally lost the car and he continued driving. "Are you going to tell me what this is all about?" I pulled out the piece of paper that was on the door. "The same person that has my son wants me to meet them at the junk yard at 9." He glances at me then back on the road. "You're not going by yourself."
"Why? I need to get my son." Edmund parks the car in a parking lot and I realized it was a diner. "Because I care about you and I know that you like me y/n. I don't want anything bad to happen to you." He leans in and kisses me on my soft lips. The kiss was so passionate and hard that when we pulled away I was dizzy."Let's get some food to kill time, I'll pay." Edmund says opening the door and still keeping his eyes on me. "Is this a date?" I ask unsure. "Y-Yes. Unless you don't want it to be." I smile at him and head out "I would love a date with detective Exley." He smirks and then grabs my hand as we walked to the entrance of the diner.
"I hope this doesn't put us in any danger being here." I say while we received our food. Burger, fries and a strawberry milkshake for me, the same thing for Edmund but a chocolate shake instead. I take some whip cream and put it on Edmunds nose. He laughs and wipes it away. This was a date alright and it was the best one.
Edmund and I were getting to know each other and it was so refreshing. Usually men just want sex but not Edmund. He wanted something real, someone that will be there for him when times were tough. I was falling and I could tell he was too. Maybe it's too early to assume but Edmund made his way next to me and kissed me again. We didn't care if people were staring, I wanted him and he wanted me. "I think it's time for me to go." I was going to excuse myself but he stopped me before I went further. "You mean we have somewhere to be."
