Safe in his arms

Ryuzaki 's POV
After we dried off and put on clean clothes, we got under the covers. We both just laid there look at the ceiling. I assumed he couldn't sleep because neither could I. "hey Ryuzaki " I look over at him "yes light?" He got over top of me with his hands pinning my wrists above his head. " What would you do if I was Kira?" My heart sank. I completely forgot about the odds that he was in fact Kira. I felt a hot tear run down my cheek "I-i-i don't..." He wiped my tear away looking shocked at my quick reaction and hugged me "it's just a hypothetical question.. I just wanted to know" I let out a sigh of relief. "I guess...I'd be confused" He pulls away from the hug but his still leaning over top of me "What do you mean?" My eyes water again but I blink the tears away. "I'd question why you'd want to waste you're time with me? I'd just be a bump in the road for Kira. Either that or you did all this just for me to trust you and Give you my name. Or maybe- " I was cut off by a kiss. Short yet passionate. "Enough. We need sleep" I lay on my side and Light grabs the chain and pulls my body to his, spooning me. My cheeks felt hot but my body felt comfortable. I turned my head around facing light. I felt his warm and calming breath on my face. In some type of way I felt safe with him. I gave him a short kiss on the lips turning back over into his arms. I finally had a peaceful sleep. Although I worried I'd lose him when we had to take the cuffs off... I didn't want this moment to end.

Lights POV
I woke up early, only to see that I had Ryuzaki cuddled up in my arms. I played with his hair for a little bit until he woke up "Good morning light" he said with his eyes still closed "Morning, love of my life" his eyes shot wide open. I giggled and he smiled burying his face into my shirt. "Oh, I forgot today is the day we uncuff ourselves. We will still be living in the same home and stuff but we don't have to be attached to each other" Right, so that means today is the day I pass the notebook to the next Kira and erase mine and Misa's memory by giving up ownership .
"Yes well I've got to go talk to Misa if that's ok? I just wanna know what caused a sudden change in heart." He looks at me and thinks for a moment "Yes, that will be best" he rolls out of bed while holding his arm out towards me so he dosnt pull me out of bed. He grabs the key of the dresser and unlocks the cuffs. "There, I'll see you later today, Light." I shoot him a smile and get up. I lean in and kiss him, he kisses back, I'd say it lasted around 1 minuet. "I love you" I whisper in his ear. "I love you-too Light" we stand there for around 30 seconds, lost in each other's gaze. I think I'm in love with him. No, I know I'm in love with him. "Well, see you later Ryuzaki" "yes, see you " I get dressed and head out the door tucking the notebook in my bag, I head over to Misa's house and tell her my plan. "What? Your giving up everything that easy!!! " "Misa I'm passing on the notebooks to the next person I believe is a proper candidate to be Kira," Misa crosses her arms "Fine. But why are you doing it this time?" "For our safety, we have done enough damage now if we have another Kira we can catch him and be the good guys in the eyes of the police while our justice is being served at someone else's will" "ok I guess , but we are still friends right Light?" I look at her remorsefully "y-yes" she looked sad "I'm so sorry Light, I .. do you want to know why?" I look at her, "sure, why?" "I... I don't think I like b-" I already knew what she was going to say... "boys" I laugh a little "what's funny?!" I look at her with a smile on my face "I think I do" she laughed and patted me on the shoulder "I still love ya, now go get rid of that death note." I wave at her and head to the woods where I told Ryuk to meet me. "Hahahahahahahahahha you wanna get rid of the note again?" I look at him with a scowl on my face "yes and for good" he chuckles. Ugh I'm glad to be getting rid of it, Ryuk is so annoying "who do you want me to give it to?" I told him someone I think would fit and gave him both death notes "here" he laughed and it was over.

Later that day
Ryuzaki POV
I heard the door shut from the living room so I pretended to be asleep to see what Light would do. "Ryuza- " he stopped and look down at me, I guess he put his stuff down and took off his coat because I heard shuffling and a faint thud. He climbed into bed next to me and cuddled up with his arms around me. I pretended to wake up "oh Light, your back." He hummed sending vibrations up my back "light ah stop light that tickles " I giggled which was odd for me I never giggled, let alone smiled "oh my Miro what was that?" I look up at him "That tickles Light." He smiled and pressed his lips against mine. Hmm he tastes sweet.. like cake?

I wanted more I turned all the way around pinning him to the bed. He tried to talk but I wouldn't let him, I enjoyed this. I licked his bottom lip asking for permission and he accepted, my tongue explored his mouth until I couldn't breath, I pulled away for air a string of saliva connecting or lips. We both wiped our mouths. I leaned over to him and kissed his cheek after I caught my breath. "Wow Ryuzaki" I smirked at him "what?" "I didn't know you could get so riled up" I lay down on top of him (well in his arms laying on his chest) "You made me a different person Light, if Kira won't be the death of me you will." I didn't think this would change the course of our conversation but it did."I'll protect you with my life Ryuzaki" he said very bluntly "well Neither of us can do anything if he finds out my name. "I don't care Ryuzaki!! I'm gonna catch Kira and I'm gonna live a happy life with you!" I hug him tighter "promise you'll never leave me Light?" He looks down at me "don't be stupid of course I'll never leave you" he kissed my forehead.
