Annabelle's POV
"My name's Annabelle, sir, but you can just call me Anna," I said, extending my hand to him so he could shake it. "I'm sure I could be of use to you," I said with a slight, cocky smirk.
I tried to come off as confident as possible, really wanting the job.
I looked the man up and down, he was a very attractive man, with dark hair and bright blue eyes. You could see through his suit that he was very muscular.
We didn't break eye contact the whole time as we discussed my, hopefully, future job.
"So sir, what do you say?" I asked, secretly crossing my fingers behind my back in hope.
He looked away from my eyes for a moment and nodded "maybe, but I just want to know a bit more about you before I decide to hire you." He looked up at me and gave me a smile. "How long did you work for the rival company?" I paused at his question and took a moment before answering.
"Uhm, about a month." I lied. He gave me an unimpressed look.
"You only worked for them for a month?" He asked. He didn't sound like he bought it.
"Yeah, I was a... cleaner." He furrowed his eyebrows and took a sip of his wine.
"A cleaner?" He questioned after he swallowed the red liquid sitting in his sparkling wine glass.
"Yes, you don't have to keep repeating everything I say." I remarked then turned away, 'damn it Annabelle, shut up.'
He only seemed to smile at me though, taking no notice of my comment, then he looked deep into my eyes, "You'll start tomorrow."
I grinned, flashing my perfectly white teeth and stood up, "thank you so much sir! You will not regret this, I promise you," I said, in a cheerful, almost high pitched voice. I did that when I was excited.
I moved out of the office. As I walked out I looked around where I would soon be working, it seemed like a normal office, dividers between each of the desks and computers, giving the workers some privacy, but it was late so nobody was filling the spaces at the moment, 'I should've asked how long the hours were..' I thought to myself, letting out a small sigh.
I walked back to my apartment ecstatically. More pay, better office space, hot boss. I chuckled slightly to myself 'poor Harry, he's gonna be so jealous that I'm working for that guy, what was his name? Arthur?' I entered my apartment.
It was a small, very basic apartment with basic furniture. The brick building only had a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and a living room. But it was enough for us. The paint was already peeling from the walls and most nights the couple above them was very audible when having their 'bonding time' together which usually started around eleven pm. Our complex was friendly so that was okay, we were happy. But of course I wanted this job for the money, so hopefully we could get our own home and maybe even start a family, but I haven't discussed that with Harry yet.
I was greeted by my boyfriend, Harry, he pulled me into a deep kiss as soon as I stepped inside.
"Hey babe," he laughed and held me close to his body, "how'd the interview go?"
I smiled and nuzzled into his neck, letting out a small sigh of content "I got the job, I start tomorrow.. I'm so tired though, can we go to bed?" I asked, almost mumbling.
Harry nodded and scooped me up, Me letting out a small squeal as he carried me to bed and we plunked down onto the bed, both cuddling together and slowly falling asleep in out single bed, as it was all we could afford.
