Annabelle's POV
I was still flustered over what had just happened 'was my boss.. Just flirting with me?' I sighed silently to myself and just passed it off, looking around the room for a few seconds then back to him and smiling "I want to be a journalist."
"A journalist? Alright" he said, his eyes still on me. They never seemed to leave my eyes, honestly I found it a little awkward, but somewhat captivating, like I could just sit here staring into his eyes for hours.. They were just so..
Captivating.
I quickly shook this feeling away and then grinned at my boss and stood up from the small interview chair "well, sir, if that's all, I think I will be on my way. I can show myself around the office" I pushed a piece of hair away from my face then turned around. I could hear Mr. Charles mumble something from behind me but I couldn't fully understand what he said and so I walked out of his office.
Everyone around the office greeted me happily, so friendly. It was a lot nicer than my old job. "Hello, hi, it's nice to meet you," was all I seemed to say for the rest of the day. I've never been around so many people at once and honestly it was a bit frightening. Since it was my first day I assumed it was okay to just walk around, talking to people and familiarising myself with the building because, well, it's my first day, I'm sure I don't have to do any work on my first day.
The building was enormous, twenty floors. It was made totally from glass and was like a maze. If I was in here by myself without an elevator to guide me from floor to floor I think I would get lost.
It was about five o'clock now. Work finishes in an hour. I was sitting on a bench somewhere in the building, not admitting to anyone I was a little lost.
I decided since I still had an hour I'd start to read my brochure, it was good to read everything I'd need to know for the job.. Since I've never actually worked as a journalist before. Half way through reading the pamphlet though I started thinking about my boss, Arthur, and how he called me beautiful and he tried to kiss my hand.
"Are you okay?" My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a man, looking in his early twenties. "Excuse me?" I said confusedly.
"Are you okay?" He repeated, "your face is all red."
I think this made me blush even more and I stood up shaking my head vigorously "I'm fine, I'm fine" I chuckled then quickly started to walk off.
'You idiot Anna, what the hell was that?'
I sighed and stepped into an elevator, ready to start heading home and as soon as I stepped in I saw My boss, Mr. Arthur Charles, Standing in the elevator.
