Arthur's POV
I sat in my office chair looking out the window. Cars were driving by 20 storeys below. People were walking on the path, getting places, and Annabelle was storming into my office.
"What. Are. These?!" She said, stopping in front of my desk, shoving the flowers and chocolates I'd sent her.
"Gifts." I said.
"Gifts? Gifts?! Did you not hear anything that I said last night. I was just lying in bed this morning, minding my own business, then I get a knock on the door. I get up, open the door, and then there's some gay florist guy outside saying that he's got roses and chocolates for me?! Really? Did you have to? Luckily I managed to sneak them in without Harry seeing." She took a deep breath.
"Sorry, about the shouting," she said as she closed her eyes and pinched the bridge of her nose, "but you've got to stop. Please I'm begging you." I was starting to lose control now. My hands were shaking. She looked delicious, and I hadn't hunted in a week or so. I stood up abruptly and looked down at my shoes to distract myself. Annabelle stopped talking.
"Are you all-"
"You need to get out," I said, stifling the shaking as best I could," now!" I added at the end.
"Umm, ok." She quickly scuttled over to the door and left. Annie peeped her head around the door.
"Is everything all right?"
"GET OUT!" I yelled at her. She quickly left and closed the door. All of a sudden the door flew open then closed again. Max had ran over to my desk.
"You need to hunt. Now."
"Not with you." I looked at him and he knew what I meant.
"Oh, right," He said awkwardly as he remembered. I groaned out of longing for human blood, but knew I wouldn't get any. For the past year we've had to drink from animals rather than humans. Apparently, according to Max, we were starting to be noticed for all the sudden human deaths. So instead of the quenching blood of humans, we get the dirty blood of foxes and rabbits. I spun around and quickly opened the window behind me. The cool air was rushing past on this windy day. I breathed in a deep breath and went to jump out. Max caught my arm before I could. He looked into my eyes.
"Don't." Is all that he said. I pulled away from his grasp and jumped out into the cool air. I gracefully glided through the air and landed with a thud on the concrete roof. I spun around to see if Max was going to join me in hunting. That's when I saw Annabelle standing next to the open window, hand over her mouth.
