Even when the van stopped we still sat there, and Agent Stewart continued to look at the walls of the van. I could tell that he was new at this. Over the years I had encountered many Agents, all of them so poise and confident. But not this one. He was nervous, jumpy almost. Anytime i made the slightest movement, he gripped the gun. This made me wonder what would become of me if i were to sneeze. After a few minutes there was a knock on the van door. Agent Stewart banged on the door, and almost immediately the heavy van door swung open.
Standing outside the van there were four armed pests standing in the back of the crowd, and four unarmed standing in the front. The pests feverishly grabbed at my arms and pulled me out the van. I pulled against their grasps not wanting to go where ever they were taking me.
"Cut it out hembra!" one of the male pests yell at me with a thick Spanish accent, and with that i decided to test my luck and spit in his face. Another, much taller and stronger, pest stepped up and shackled my legs.
"You're only making things harder for yourself." he warned. I gave up fighting and just let them pull me. There was really no sense in fighting. No matter what i did i was never going to get out of this one.
I'm done, i thought hopelessly to myself.
All the effort i put into staying anonymous was wasted.
I should have had been more careful.
But it was too late to be careful.
Agent Stewart walked to the front of the crowd as we reached a set of tall doors. There was a small pad on the side of the door, and as he put his hand on it the doors opened. Through those doors there was more. Many more, maybe four or five sets. Once we finally walked through the final set of doors there was a wall of guards, maybe fifteen or twenty of them.
"Evening." Agent Stewart greeted. No one replied.
They continued to pull me, but once we reached stairs three of them left. At the bottom of the stair case lay six more guards. The stairs led to a long and dark tunnel. All was quite except for the sound of scurrying mice. It took about two minutes to successfully cross through the tunnel, and once we reached the end i found even more guards. The guards were standing in front of a vault type thing. One of the guards opened the vault as the others led me in. Inside there were a series of cells. They led me to the cell in the very back. I fell onto the floor as they pushed me in.
All but Agent Stewart and the guard that i had spat on left.
"Summer Vera, you have been ordered by the VPA to stay in temporary lockdown awaiting trial," Agent Stewart spoke in a shaky voice. "You will have one feeding a week, but other than that you will have very little contact with others. If you have questions or concerns you can ask for either me or Agent Gomez."
"GOT it?" Agent Gomez asked.
"Got it." i spat back in a sharp voice.
With that Agents Stewart and Gomez left and i began "temporary" lock down.
