Chapter 3 - Sad Memories (1)

"I've traveled for years, seen many things, many strange things. But I've never seen such thing like light and darkness united and fighting what could destroy them both...The only question here is, why the second side won't play a role in this fight or at least try to stop it?" A wanderer

They say warriors who fall while defending their homes and lands are honored in their death and shall never be forgotten, and warriors who betray and run away shall be cursed forever...

I remember I was going on a task, an ultimate task leading a big army, heading from the Alpha Dark planet toward the Omega planet, and at the same time the princess of Sigma Light planet was leading an army heading to Omega planet. No one knew what kind of danger we were going to face. Both armies arrived at the meeting point after a long travel so we camped there to spend the night and wait for orders. "Where is the mead guys?" A soldier asked, "Are you an idiot? We don't need drunken people, we are on duty and we need everyone to focus and stay sharp, got it?" Squad Captain replied, "Sir Yes sir" The solider replied and sat by the fire with his squad members. Meanwhile I was taking a walk with the princess around the camp, "Why do you think our parents sent armies here? Is it that hard of a task to require the presence of two strong armies? Why..." I pulled the princess toward me, put my arms around her "Stop thinking about work for a moment and enjoy this cold night", "But..." She looked at me with her bright eyes then I replied laughing "No buts princess, we'll handle the work later but now let us enjoy this beautiful night", we spent the night watching the stars, holding each other, kissing, until we fell asleep...

"Sir...Sir wake up", we woke up on the voice of one of the soldiers "Sir we've received orders from the king and we have to move fast" I got up yawning "Ohhh my...It is morning already, get up princess we have to get ready". We went back to the camp and assembled everyone, "Commander Cliff go ahead and explain the situation" Ordering the commander with sleepy eyes "Yes sir, listen everyone we've received information about our task, it is an ultimate task...", "Whoa...Ohhh...Sounds dangerous..." The soldiers got surprised after what they've heard "Silence everyone, fear nothing, we've done so many tasks before, we shall end up victorious and head back home so stay strong, continue commander" The commander nodded "As I said, we've received an ultimate task to do, and that is to kill an elder dragon that has been summoning minions and troubling other lands and might as well launch an attack on our home, so after we kill it we should infiltrate and capture his castle", I looked left then right "Okay everyone gear up and get ready to move in one hour, the princess will let you know about the plan" then I went to my tent letting the princess explain the tactics and formation. With a loud voice and a serious look on her face she spoke up to everyone "First of all, team work is what going to make us success in this task, second never try to act like a hero, on the field one wrong move and you will bring death to yourself or others so don't act foolish and follow orders, I want the archers squad to split into two groups, first group take the left and second group takes the right, heavy artillery squad stay in last line and give support to archers squad, knights squad split into three units in front lines backed up with horsemen, mages and healers squads support all units, shield squad moves first to reduce any incoming damage and open a way for the knights squad and last but not least the air fighters squad will support us from above, get ready and stay in formation". I sat there in the tent thinking about the questions the princess asked me earlier, what's the purpose of sending two armies? Maybe the task would be more than easy with both powers combined, but still it can be done with half an army or less.

"Look after your sister Alex, she's going to grow up and become a great sorceress like your mother, or maybe she will follow the path of her father hahaha..." Remembering the voice of my father before heading to Omega planet was more than enough to keep me strong and reminding me that I have a home to go back to after we finish this, I put on my armor, grabbed my sword and left the tent. "Is everyone ready Commander Cliff?", " Yes Sir, everyone in position and ready to move", I rode my horse and headed to the front lines, the princess in middle lines to keep the formation solid and my little sister with her to lend some help and learn a thing or two from this battle, "Forward soldiers, today we bring victory" With a war cry I rose the spirit of the soldiers as we advanced toward the castle, the dust mixing with the air as we run forward, the stumbles of horses feet shacking the ground, the war cries of warriors will put fear into the heart of our enemies, this day shall be a great day, this day we shall go back home victorious.

The enemy troops were waiting for us at the front gates, there weren't a lot of them which made this task sound fishy, we moved as planned taking on the enemy and striking hard, we took down nearly most of them before their leader appeared...
