"Have a seat." The general said gesturing to the foldable chairs in front of him. Inside the tent, sat General Ross. He was seated in a foldable chair with a gun in hand which he appeared to be cleaning. Katherine and John stepped inside the general's tent and took a seat. She looked around to see that it was just like the tent John and herself were in earlier, but smaller.
Earlier they had just finished eating dinner with Bri and began making their way over to the general's tent since he wanted to talk to them and as did them. Bri went her separate way.
"I'm pretty sure that you are aware by now that we are not just some refugee camp." General Ross said as he continued to clean his gun.
"Yes, Bri- I mean Brittany told me that you were the resistance and the fact that you wanted our help" Katherine replied.
The general looked up at her and back at his gun. "Yes, that is correct."
"I don't see how we can help we're just two people," John stated.
Katherine nodded her head in agreement. "Yeah, I don't even have any military experience like you."
General Ross stopped cleaning his gun and sat it down. His eyes then trained on Katherine. "Yes, you can help. You're more useful than you think."
Katherine and John exchanged confused glances than looked back toward the general in curiosity. "How?" John asked with a raised brow.
"Let me just give you the gist of what I had in mind." The general stood to his feet and walked around the small table he was sitting behind and stood directly in front of it. "When I first saw both of you, mainly Katherine, an idea came to me." The general began to explain. "We could use you, Katherine, lure out the-"
"Wait a minute!" John blurted out. "You want to use her as bait!"
The general released an annoyed sigh then continued. "We could use Katherine as bait to lure out the Alpha Prime where we could end him once and for all. Now if we take down the Alpha Prime we could use him to command his people to submit. Hopefully, find a way to send them back to their planet."
"But, you're still putting her life on the line!" John said a bit upset.
The general sighed again. "Yes, we all have to make sacrifices like many of our soldiers had made sacrifices for this country or some people have made sacrifices getting people here." The general said gesturing to the camp itself than giving John a hard knowing look. Katherine looked down at her hands folded in the lap in sorrow and shame of the friends she left behind at the hands of those lycans.
"Of course, it is your decision, Katherine." The general said. Katherine looked up to see the general and John staring at her in anticipation. "We will do everything in our power to keep you safe as soon as we capture the Alpha Prime."
Katherine looked away from him for a moment then ran a hand through her hair. "Let me think about it."
The general gave her a small grin as if he knew her answer will be yes. While John just gave her an "are you serious" look. "Of course just give me your answer tomorrow after breakfast."
Katherine nodded her head and made her way out of the tent with John following close behind.
"Katherine, you can't seriously be considering this?" John asked once they were a good distance from General Ross' tent.
"I don't know yet, but I-"
"Katherine, you realize if you do this you will be in Demos' possession again. Do you seriously want that?" John asked stepping in front of her causing her to stop walking.
