Katherine's POV

I sat in my room staring at the peach before me. My stomach growled in anger by not having the peach inside it already, but I knew I should not eat it now. I still have a whole day ahead of me and this is the only food I have to eat. This was my punishment. This is what I get for being eight minutes late to bed. Demos wanted me to starve the entire day. No food and no water.

The punishment could have been worst. I could be tied up again and have no food for an entire week. Though of my last punishment cause a shiver to run down my spine.

KNOCK. KNOCK

I was pulled out of my thoughts by the sudden knocking at my door.

"Miss, it's me Bethany. May I come in."

"Come in!" I yelled from my bed. I watched as Bethany walk in with a basket of laundry under her arms.

"Morning, Katherine. Did you get back in time last night?" Bethany asked shutting the door behind her and then came over, taking a seat beside me.

I shook my head. "No. Demos was standing outside the room waiting for me. The man actually timed me Beth." I said turning my body on the bed towards her. "His punishment is to starve me the whole day for being 8 minutes late."

Bethany gave me remorseful look. "I'm sorry, Katherine. We should have been more careful."

I shook my head. "Yeah, its okay. I'm just glad he didn't go looking for me or we would have been in trouble." Bethany nodded her head in agreement. Her eyes then turned toward the night stand beside the bed where the peach sat. "Is that the same peach I gave you last night?"

I looked toward the peach and nodded. "Yeah, the same one. Its torture my stomach is growling and I am trying to save the peach for the right time to eat it."

"Why don't I get you some food?" Bethany said standing up.

"No, Bethany don't." I said standing up as well. "Demos will smell the food before you could set foot in my room. Besides its just one day. I think I can make it."

Bethany put a hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry, Katherine. You helped me out last time. Now it is my turn."

I smiled. "Okay, just get it for me later this afternoon. Demos has to tend to a meeting around that time anyway." I took a seat with Bethany following my actions. I grabbed the peach filling my mouth with its sweet juicy taste. "Thanks Beth."

"No problem."

After a few more bits I spoke again. "So, did Dallas talk to your aunt yet?"

Bethany sighed and lowered her head. "Yeah he did."

"Well, what did she say?" I asked taking another bit of the peach.

"She said that she did not want us to go through with the plan."

"What?"

"She said that it was too dangerous and we could get killed." Bethany exclaimed.

This is not good our plan cannot work if she cannot help us cut the tracker out. "Bethany, what are we going to do? She has more medical experience than us."

"I know. I also been thinking we need to get them out before the ceremony begins."

I gave her a confused look. "Wouldn't Demos know that something is wrong?"
